Vote for Maiden in Revolver's Album Of The Year! Let's kick Marilyn Manson's ass!

First of all, how in the hell is Manson winning??? And where is Judas Priest?

    Helloween & Gamma Ray

I've read that before, but I always knew Edguy was greatly inspired by Maiden. The two bands that made Edguy who they are would be Helloween and Iron Maiden. Listen to The Savage Poetry. Whereas most of their stuff has more of a Helloween style, The Savage Poetry was straight-up Maiden worship...

    Helloween & Gamma Ray

I'm not saying Kiske isn't talented. He definitely is. I just prefer Deris because he can sound gritty and do more. If Kiske just had a bit more rasp or grit to his voice I'd like him much more. Tobias Sammet is a great example of a Kiske influenced vocalist. On the earlier Edguy albums...

    Helloween & Gamma Ray

I've been saying this for a long time. But I can see the possibility of a reunion. I do think he's overrated and bland. He's talented and can hit amazing notes, but he isn't very diverse. Deris is much better for Helloween. Obviously he can't go as high as Kiske, but he can still sing in a...

Redeemer of Souls Vs. The Book of Souls

I think Priest feels competition with Maiden but also inspiration. Just a theory. I have a theory Nostradamus was kind of a response to the more progressive sound Maiden developed. I like Nostradamus but its unfortunate it didn't get received so well. Like I said, Redeemer was awesome and has...

    Helloween & Gamma Ray

I have a feeling there will be some sort of reunion. They all seem to be warming up to the idea. My guess would be a concert, possibly a tour with Helloween and Unisonic where they play live together, and call it a reunion tour. And who knows, maybe that could lead to some sort of a reunion on...

    Rush

I went with Vapour Trails. I don't suppose it's a popular choice, but something about it stays with me. The themes and lyrics are beautiful. The music itself is more simple compared to what they're known to do. But that's okay. Dream Theater should take note. Or maybe they did? :p

    Judas Priest

Anyone else feel Angel of Retribution is a very underrated album? I personally, would put it up there with their best. Granted, I'm an odd one; I feel Jugulator and everything since are their best albums. Deal With The Devil is one of my favourites (I think Edguy took from it on a Hellfire...

    Queensryche & Geoff Tate

Ive been listening to a bit here and there online recently and I've observed some interesting things. Operation Mindcrime 2 sounds totally different then part one. It sounds much more modern, like alternative metal or rock. I wonder who the main songwriter was. Do they write together like...

Redeemer of Souls Vs. The Book of Souls

Well I for one think Redeemer is one of the best albums of their careers. When they released the title track as a single I immediately thought of Painkiller. Now it's clear it's really not, and the albums nothing like Painkiller. But it's undoubtedly Priest. But thinking of Painkiller, maybe...

    Metal with female vocals

I think Nevermore should reform with a female vocalist.

    Sabaton

I'm not very familiar with Sabaton so excuse me if this sounds ridiculous, but aren't Sabaton kind of like a modern Gave Digger?

Redeemer of Souls Vs. The Book of Souls

I disagree, I don't think they were trying to recreate Painkiller. When the first song was released I thought that, then I got the album and listen to every song and realised they are just being Judas Priest. If it has to be compared to any album, it's Defenders of The Faith. But Redeemer is...

    What's the matter with FOTD?

People always shit on NPFTD, but FoTD doesn't get shit on anywhere near as much. XFactor, Virtual XI and NPFTD are all infinitely better than FoTD.

    Your Maiden blasphemy

I may have said this unpopular opinion before, but I feel I must say it again. Maybe it will help it's legacy.. The Angel And The Gambler is one of Iron Maidens best songs. I really wish it was seen as a classic to more fans, because to me it is. I wish they would play it live again.

    Queensryche & Geoff Tate

I'm not the most well versed in the works of Queensryche, but I've been wondering why exactly they always used to be compared to Dream Theater. Maybe I haven't heard enough of or the right songs from their catalogue, but Queensryche sounds to me like they should be considered more Traditional...

    Helloween & Gamma Ray

Despite my feelings of indifference towards Kiske's voice, I am incredibly impressed by how strong his voice still is. Especially when compared to other classic heavy metal vocalists like Dickinson, Halford, and Tate.

Redeemer of Souls Vs. The Book of Souls

Both albums are very strong. With Redeemer, Judas Priest have made one of their heaviest albums. It harkens back to the 80s, while at the same time adding new elements. Songs like Walls of Valhalla and Sword of Domocles in particular are unlike anything they've done before and alone are worth...

Why A Matter Of Life and Death is Iron Maidens best album

I mean that the album sounds like classic 80s Maiden in production sound only. You know, the classic raw Maiden sound with the "clanky" instrumentation? Heh some people may find that a weird description but like MindlessPieces, I lack the musical knowledge to describe it any other way. Of...
