    Transylvania

I still haven't woken up. Such good guitar work. I also love instrumental metal songs and I never understand why some people don't like them. I feel that every good album needs one. Shh don't tell me that NOTB doesn't have one. 10/10
  2. 22 The Avenue

    Phantom of the Opera

Probably the best song of this album and its known for it's classic guitar solo (it's a good one). This is the beginning of the "core" of this album for me, with the following three songs being my favorites. I really could just close my eyes for the next three tracks and fade away into another...

    Running Free

We're back to the similar type of song as prowler and sanctuary. This is a catchy song and I like it. Similar punk feel. Not as strong as prowler, so one score less. 7/10

    Remember Tomorrow

I like this song a lot and it slows things down from the first two songs. This seems like a song that is more in line with later IM songs than the prior two songs were that started this album. Great belting howls throughout. Another great guitar solo (this is going to be a theme with this band...

    Sanctuary

This song feels like a song i'd hear on a ramones or dead kennedy's album. I know some may not like to hear that. It's okay, but probably the weakest song on this debut album. 6/10

    Prowler

8/10. An excellent start to the Iron Maiden debut. It immediately brought back a slightly punk rock feel to it. I agree that the lyrics are simple and creepy, but also funny because of that creepiness. A bold first song. Excellent guitar solo.

The Number of the Beast: Album Discussion

This thread is for the album "The Number of the Beast". Of the first three albums, this one is without question the best album. I liked Paul Di'Anno but there's nothing better than Bruce Dickinson's classic howl that you hear right out of the gates in "Invaders". There is not a single bad song...

    Killers: Album Discussion

This thread is for the album "Killers". Note: No intention to take away from the killers concept album thread. The second and final album featuring Paul Di'Anno is one that leaves me feeling so-so about it as an entire album. I have now heard IM, Killers and NOTB and Killers is IMO, the weakest...

    Iron Maiden: Album Discussion

That's what is great about these first two albums, the "right out of the pub" sound they have. Compared to NOTB and Bruce's style, it reminded me of some old punk rock acts, although honestly much better than they ever were. Most punk bands don't have guitar solos that are this good.

    Iron Maiden: Album Discussion

Forostar, I saw that general albums rating thread and I didn't mean to take away from it. I thought that each album's subforum may need somewhere to talk about that specific album outside of the thread for each individual song. We certainly can talk about albums in almost any thread on here...

Studio Album #16 - Rumours and Speculation (New Info 27.02.15)

This is awesome. I will get to experience at least one new maiden album as it comes out. I would imagine they want to immediately tour afterwards and that is what they're waiting on.

    Iron Maiden: Album Discussion

I was working my way through the IM commentary threads and I love the idea of a thread devoted to discussing each song. I realized we also need a thread for general discussion related to the albums. I will be creating them as I work my way through the discography for the first time, in...

    New posters! Who are you?

I was actually wondering if there is anything unique about the live albums to really bother with. I'm never a person who buys a live album unless it seems to contain a significant amount of songs that are only found on that live album (no version contained on a studio album). I have been...

What is your least favorite Maiden song?

Just listened to this one. Not the worst, certainly not the best. I don't like the endless repetition of "hooks in you" throughout the entire song. It was definitely overkill. The lyrics also made me laugh.

    New posters! Who are you?

I plan on getting each album chronologically. Yes, even the Di'Anno, Bayley and 1990s albums that everyone seems to dislike. :p I think it's amazing that they have spanned 40 years, released 15 albums that seem to be predominately solid, and are touring in their late 50s/early 60s.

    New posters! Who are you?

Hello I'm 22 The Avenue. I had always meant to get into IM and online everyone said NOTB is the best album, the classic album. I get it on itunes and it was good, but I forgot to pursue IM further from there. Then about a month ago, 22 Acacia Avenue came on my iphone while driving to work and I...

What is your least favorite Maiden song?

So I decided to check out the song that most people on here are calling maiden's worst song, The Angel & The Gambler, including it's music video. Had this been the first maiden song that someone told me to go check out to get an idea of what the band is about, I would've never bothered to listen...

Bruce Undergoes Cancer Treatment (ALL CLEAR AS OF 2022)

Hello, New poster here and a relatively new Iron Maiden fan. I've been reading this forum for the past week and finally set up an account. I just have one thing to say. "Where has this band been my entire life?". I own only two albums so far, NOTB (a classic after listening to a couple of times...
