A Matter of Life and Death Dissection

although it is slowly... very slowly, growing on me, I have to say that I feel that AMOLAD is the most overrated of the three reunion albums i've heard so far. I still have TFF to go. It's a good album, but it's not this epic masterpiece that everyone on here makes it out to be. I liked BNW and...

It's sickening how underrated Lord of Light is

It's easily among AMOLAD's best songs. Probably not my favorite, but I'd give it top 3 or top 4 on the album.

Speed of Light - Official Music Video Thread

o trust me. It can be the best album that IM has ever made by a landslide, and there will be at least one person still complaining.

Speed of Light - Official Music Video Thread

This is America and we don't care about properly researching non-white cultures! They're all the same as far as we're concerned! O wait... this isn't America. It's Britain. Well then...

Speed of Light - Official Music Video Thread

I was immediately reminded of that artwork. I almost felt that the artwork was designed knowing the subject matter/setting of speed of light's music video. It was a sort of "teaser" that I only realized in hindsight.

Speed of Light - Official Music Video Thread

Yes. i've seen all the IM videos and I knew the moment that this one was over that it was hands down their best music video of all time. It was up there as one of the best music videos i've ever seen.

    Your Maiden blasphemy

I'm still not through AMOLAD, TFF and obviously TBOS, but I think Killers is the worst album so far. It's a three way decision between Killers, No Prayer for the Dying and Virtual XI. I'll have to think it over long and hard. All three were average at best and disappointing compared to maiden's...

"The Book of Souls" - Official pre-release thread (CONTAINS ALBUM SPOILERS)

So we learned that what we heard in the sample was in fact Speed of Light and that it will be released on the 14th. My wife and I were up at about 3am tending to our 3 month old. I was feeding her. I was looking on facebook and saw the update from 2am EST. I guess maybe 8-9am in england. I put...

I think the tattoo is cool, I just couldn't resist the chance to joke about bad band tattoos like when people have a poison tattoo.

"The Book of Souls" - Official pre-release thread (CONTAINS ALBUM SPOILERS)

Wow. I don't read this for 2 days and there's about 10-12 pages but no real news. I thought something big happened haha.

You don't EVER tattoo a band to your body. What if they end up sucking one day?!

    Your Maiden blasphemy

I do but haven't read it for every song.

    Your Maiden blasphemy

I didn't realize there was a video from "From Here to Eternity"... nor did I dive into the lyrics deep enough to realize it was the final Charlotte the Harlot song. When I posted, I knew there were some songs with sexual themes, but it's not 80% of them like Van Halen, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Warrant...

    Your Maiden blasphemy

I guess i'm violating the rules of this thread, but i'm not sure where else to put it. It could be unpopular. One thing that I just realized as I've gotten as far as DoD is that, unlike most American metal bands emerging from the 80s, Maiden has managed to predominately avoid writing lyrics and...

"The Book of Souls" - Official pre-release thread (CONTAINS ALBUM SPOILERS)

haha i just got finished watching the rainmaker music video less than an hour ago. I also recall seeing it on mtv2, along with wildest dreams, back in 2003 when I was in high school. It appeared on head banger's ball. I remember liking them at the time and I have no clue why I never followed...

Thanks for the clarification. I had missed that when skimming these past 10 or so pages from over this weekend.

"The Book of Souls" - Official pre-release thread (CONTAINS ALBUM SPOILERS)

I just read the review from several pages back. I'm glad the reviewer liked it, but since he listed no issues or flaws of the album, i'm wondering why he gave it a 9/10. I'm assuming he had to feel it was one of the best albums of all time across all musical genres to warrant a 10/10? When I...

    Guilty pleasures

I actually like Wovenwar, but they're not as good as the previous band that all members but the lead vocalist were in, As I Lay Dying. Tim Lambesis (AILD's frontman) had a work out buddy that hooked him up with a "contract killer" to off his then wife who he was going through a divorce and...
