RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

Some were dismissive about people taking ATG for granted as soon as the tour was announced, but it was blindingly obvious in my opinion that it'll get played since it's the memed-on song from SiT and Bruce repeatedly brought up their intention to play it on his book tour. SotC on LOTB was an...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

There's a lot you can do with a screen, it's really just a question of if they've managed to make good use of it or if it'll just end up as a cost effective backdrop replacement with some animation and music video footage thrown in. I'd say they've certainly stretched hand-painted backdrops to...

I would advise you to be prepared for disappointment, honestly.

I don't think he really did though - Bruce or someone mentioned that FoI on LOTB was somewhere in the middle as a compromise tempo wise, not as slow as it was on the album but nowhere near as fast as they played it live back in the 80s.

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

Actually that makes perfect sense. They saw the thing at rehearsal, went "ah fuck it's crap" and had to roll with it until they could get a replacement since I doubt the big Eddies are exactly put together by the crew in an afternoon with whatever supplies they had at the local arts and crafts shop.

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

I just had the silliest idea: Fear as the opening song. It'd certainly fit the bill for Bruce's "I can't believe they're playing that... (at the start)" comment!

Simon Dawson is the new drummer

Doing the whole "he's still in the band, just not playing with us (live, but it's not like we're heading into the studio any time soon, so...)" I feel was a bit of a miscalculation, since honestly it sets expectations. If they never record another album then Nicko is de facto not in the band...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

I'd say SBiT was much better because the gap was nine years at least since the last time Aces High, Powerslave and Wasted Years got played, and five years for HCW and CIPWM. Not to mention Rime obviously, and Moonchild. ME in comparison really felt like the most cynical way to do a tour based on...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

Hallowed is absolutely getting played on a greatest hits tour, come on now. Meanwhile I don't think Wasted Years or Powerslave honestly qualify for the likely category at all. We had one hint about the latter which was still pretty vague, and the former just was the last encore of a tour...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

RTTH, Running Free and Sanctuary were their "core" block for encore songs for quite a few tours in the 80s, so I wouldn't be surprised if in that spirit they'll play exactly those three songs but in reverse order as the encore. I feel like including both Running Free and Sanctuary is just...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

Chronological order or reverse chronological order could both make sense, the latter being a little harder to pace since if we're taking Bruce's first 30 minutes comment to heart then we'd probably arrive at Rime by song number five and I don't see them going for it that early on. Chronological...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

I do generally agree with that. However I do also know there was a lot of gnashing of teeth in newsgroups back in 2003 when the Dance of Death tour's setlist got posted after the first show, because "they're playing the same old songs every tour like CIPWM" which of course hadn't been played in...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

Well yeah, but don't you think it would've been a little excessive to play three deep cuts that were already played on the previous non-album tour they did? I'm almost certain there were people complaining about DWYBO and Revelations already, subbing 22AA with something from the actual early...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

I thought it was pretty obviously because they'd literally just played 22AA two years prior on the previous hits tour, so they wanted to try out the other early days era Charlotte song. Probably should've rehearsed 22AA too just in case so they could've dropped it in once it became obvious CTH...

    18th Studio Album discussion

You know that's kinda funny, since that song's pace has always slightly bothered me. It feels oddly rigid compared to just about every other song on the album, especially the post-solo section chorus which has a super weird feel. Never thought enough of it to look the documentary or any...

    18th Studio Album discussion

Yeah, and it's not like Nicko's going to be in any better shape years down the line after taking an extended break from touring which seemed to be what caused his noticeable downward trend in 2024 in the first place. Not to mention sheer age. If they record a new album, I personally don't...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

Janick having a co-write in the set was absolutely not in consideration when choosing the setlist for LotB, why on Earth would it be now?

No wonder Bruce's been so enthusiastic about their new drummer. He must've seen this coming a mile away.

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

I'd bet a decent sum of money on the poster only saying that because unlike many previous tours, this time they've pretty explicitly locked two years' worth of touring in well ahead of time, with a wait-and-see approach for 2027 since the band's not getting any younger. If nothing stops them...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

No, he kinda did. Check the interview. The only time they played together was a single run through of the Future Past set, which as you might have noticed, like I said, features exactly two songs Clive originally recorded out of a set of 15. You're jumping to argue something that neither Bruce...
