    'Judgement Day'

Exactly. IMO there are just two things that are somewhat disappointing on this record: The first one is the least important IMO and that's Blaze's somewhat tamed performance. At the time he wasn't the singer he turned out to be 10 years later. Even so it's a decent delivery that by no way...

Did any of the songs from The Book Of Souls enter your top 10 maiden songs list?

Nope. And as far as my top 25 to 30 songs only the excellent title track makes the cut.

rate all 17 Maiden albums best to worst

Yup. IMO an album is more than the sum of its songs. And FOTD truly lacks coherency in my opinion, which pulls its overall average grade down.

    Most overrated Maiden album?

Only falls short to Still Life and The Prophecy for me. And it's not by much: Back In The Village is an amazingly wild track. Love it! P.S. : Powerslave? Fillers? WTF?

Name your fave three songs from the reunion era yet

Montségur as #1. Then pick two more from the following: Face In The Sand, For The Greater Good Of God, These Colors Don't Run, The Talisman and When the Wild Wind Blows because I just can't leave any of these out.

    Doom Metal

Still during the 90's and early 2000's some bands started to do all kind of crazy mixes involving Doom Metal: I remember how confused yet amazed I felt when I listened to this vinyl in 1993. Confessor takes Doom and throws it in a complex time signature labyrinth with guitar riffs not too far...

    Doom Metal

Great track! Like I said before I believe no one can even start talking about Doom Metal without mentioning Saint Vitus, Pentagram or Witchfinder General. Yeah, I think it's true they pretty much emulated the doomier, heavier and darker side of 70's Sabbath. But if it wasn't for them rehashing...

Pick the three best performed songs from Beast Over Hammersmith

Amazing show with the band firing at all cylinders. The opener MITRM and Killers are simply mind blowing. The rest of the setlist is amazing as well yet I'll go with Total Eclipse since it was never played again after this tour and the band nailed it 100% here.

    Doom Metal

There are also some Post Metal/ Sludge bands that occasionally go reaaaaaaaaaaally Doomy. First and foremost: Obscure Sphinx. Amazing band with a jaw dropping frontwoman in Zofia Fras (in every aspect). This track is a voyage. Enjoy. A more well-known name is Neurosis. Starting as a Hardcore...

    Doom Metal

When it comes to more psychedelic and retro sounding Doom bands (yet giving it a modern twist) Sleep comes immediately to mind. Even so, Sleep isn't even my Al Cisneros favorite band. IMO OM is even more mind blowing and diversified: Another truly hypnotic group that's been around for a fair...

    Doom Metal

Suddenly the whole Death Doom thing spread like wildfire across Europe: Now, despite recognizing the mastery of Katatonia as musicians, the fact is most of their releases never rang with me, except their masterful sophomore Brave Murder Day. Looking for the Doom parallel of early Opeth? Try...

    Doom Metal

Was not aware there were so many Doom Metal fans like me here at the forum. That being said, some of my favorite records within the genre. Despite loving Witchfinder General, Pentagram and St. Vitus I won't include them on this list, since their brand of doom was almost identical to what Sabbath...
