Best Song Contest- Round 3, Part 3- The Grand Final!

No contest. Hell on Earth is a great, fantastic song, lots of interesting parts, the 3 minute intro is fantastic, the many melodies are great. What a fantastic song. On the other hand Rime just drags on and on and on playing the same riff right from the beginning, a little respite in the middle...

Best Song Contest- Round 3, Part 3- The Grand Final!

Hell on Earth is a terrific song. FTGGOG is an average song, far from the best on just the AMOLAD album alone.

My ranking of Megadeth Rust in Peace Countdown to Extinction Youthanasia Peace Sells Cryptic Writings <a gap> So far so good <a gap> The sick the dying and the dead <a gap> Risk <below the threshold of wanting these on my iPod> All the rest, can't distinguish between them, they are all just on...

Best Song Contest- Round 3, Part 3- The Grand Final!

Two very dull epics, I wouldn't care if I never heard either one of them again. But Rime has to be better than Sign of the cross. It's like picking the best of two mangy flea bitten, crippled mutts, OK, one is better than the other, but really they should both be put down. Only one song in...

Best Song Contest- Round 3, Part 3- The Grand Final!

Talisman is certainly not perfect. That intro is horrendous. 2:18m (25% of the whole song) of complete drudgery and boredom. The only way I could keep that song on my ipod was by cutting that intro off. It also reminds me of the very worst part of the AMOLAD album - The intro to the Legacy, same...

I'm really enjoying this latest album. I also really like the bonus songs.

Dance of Death, such a fantastic imaginative story told to an evolving music backdrop. I've never really been over the moon about The Greater Good of God, musically if feels a little broadway-ish to me, and has that repetitive chorus structure where they just say the title over and over and...

I don't care too much for these songs either. How have these been picked as the best songs from their respective albums? We really are selling Maiden short, and selling these great albums short. I'm not gonna vote on this one. This forum doesn't make much sense to me.

Both of those would have given DOD a run for its money in my book, but as it is Ghost is nowhere near DOD. People keep picking the wrong songs (sob, sob)

I've looked up various rankings online. None of them that I have found have Sign of the Cross in the top 20. Some have Rime in the top 10, none with Rime beating Hallowed. But of course I understand there is no authority on the matter.

Best Song Contest- Round 3, Part 3- The Grand Final!

As far as I understand it, the majority of fans don't like X Factor and would rate it and every song on that album very lowly. We have Phantom, Revelations, Hallowed, Children of the damned, Where Eagles Dare, To Tame a land, Alexander the Great, Powerslave, 2 minutes, wasted years, Aces high...

Best Song Contest- Round 3, Part 3- The Grand Final!

Round 3 is looking a bit dull so far, If those two were the top 2 songs of Iron Maiden's first 20 years it is amazing they survived and were able to make a living as professional musicians. I certainly wouldn't have been a fan. But luckily IM actually have produced heaps and heaps of songs...

I normally play on random so album order makes no sense to me. Each song stands on its own. Yeah, I don't know why more people don't complain about the drum sound, I think it is so bad it should be a common complaint. But I don't see others complain about it. The drums are very tolerable and...

We are all of course entitled to our own opinions, and of course with songs we love it can be staggering how others don't love them and songs we don't love, it can be staggering how others love them. I'm in both situations. I think with Sign of the Cross, my biggest issue isn't Blaze's voice...

Best Song Contest- Round 3, Part 3- The Grand Final!

I really like both of these songs. No prayer is the better album by far but Fear of the Dark delivers in a big surprise with this one fantastic song. Both of these songs should easily destroy SOTC in a head to head, but for some weird reason many people perceive No prayer as a bad album (can't...

Very disappointed in the result of the 80's era. I guess you can't account for the bad taste of others. Rime wouldn't even feature in my top 20 Iron Maiden songs from that era. It's just such a long boring song. They should have either cut it right down to a quarter of the length or put more...
