Ban Abas because I'm not a junior member yet and Abas is.

Ronnie James Dio (1942-2010) - The Official Topic

Same here, which brings me to my favorite memory of RJD: performing at the high school dance at South Park, while the kids dance around like "Peanuts" to Holy Diver. I would've loved if he had played my school dances! RJD, here's hoping you're with the other fools that have sailed away...

Maiden songs you are currently stuck on

Lately stuck on Dance of Death - enjoying the driving power of it and the last third. Hell, even the pranced line sounds better now!  :D

Celebrity babes my GF lets me get away with

Yep, I think Anne Hathaway is hot, and my wife is mega-hot and looks a lot like her. Yet, despite mentioning the similarity and of course I find Anne Hathaway attractive since she looks like my wife... well, let's just say that it doesn't end well. The perils of life with a beautiful woman. At...

    Charlotte the Harlot

I agree with the silly assessment, and think this song is not Iron Maiden-worthy. That being said, it's a catchy tune. Like CTH'88 better, because it sounded spookier and Maidenesque.

    Hallowed Be Thy Name

I AM on the greatest metal song ever bandwagon. Yet, paradoxically, it might not even be my fav Maiden song. Once this paradox resolves itself, I'll let you know. But a perfect song, in every sense of the word.

Rime Of The Ancient Mariner vs. The Talisman

I choose Talisman, but of course love Rime. I based my criteria on this - if either of them came out on an album today, which would I go more ga-ga for? I'd say Talisman, because the bit in the middle of Rime, while integral to the song, makes it to me more like a symphony (second movement) and...

    Metal with female vocals

I think this is accurate, which why I'm still this way/that way on which is better. I mean, Wanderlust is the BEST example of how awesome Tarja was, but Dark Passion Play was the album they never could have made with her... and it was, to me, the epitome of symphonic metal and their best work. I...

    Be Quick or Be Dead

Has anyone ever noticed that this song sounds like Helloween/Gamma Ray, Kai Hansen-era? The rasp, the driving beat, the scream... I can hear Kai doing this song. Subject matter fits, too.

    Metal with female vocals

Edenbridge is good, very uptempo but symphonic. Their best IMHO is the album "Solitaire." Within Temptation's first album was good but they've got to crap since then. Amberian Dawn have flashes of brilliance, but some of their songs are just so bad that you want to collapse into laughter...

Has anyone seen these kids before? Flight of Icarus!

The Man Who Would Be King

Re: Daily Song: The Man Who Would Be King Agreed. It's not even interesting like S15...TFF, a good rocker like Alchemist or El Dorado, interesting in its own way like Mother of Mercy or Coming Home, or an instant classic like Isle of Avalon, Starblind, WTWWB, or Talisman. If it weren't there...

    The Talisman

Gave it a 10 because there's nothing higher. One of the best songs Maiden has ever done. The intro sets the tone perfectly, and then there isn't a minute that the song lets up. Goes from a gallop into a full-on stampede. Subject matter is awesome, the lyrics match the music perfectly, it evokes...

Maiden Songs that belong on other albums

GREAT call, I think that would work out wonderfully - fits in with the whole wandering theme, I think.
