David Bowie did it too a lot in the early albums. Somehow it was a lot more freedom to experiment back then. Nowadays it must be done so that nobody notices those tricks. Of course there are exceptions, like Alice Coopers autotune effects in the new "Welcome 2 my nightmare" -album.

Actually John Lennon did that a lot in the Beatles. For instance as early as "A Hard Days Night" song has double tracked lead vocals. Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson did that in many songs so that the other vocal was sung an octave below than the other. Sounds very strong.

When I got NOTB on a cassette it had b-side first. Of course the vinyl can also be listened in that order.

Loved them up to FOTD, but they haven't really succeeded after that. X Factor is horrible. VXI bad, BNW ok, DOD bad, AMOLAD ok and TFF bad. The covers are somehow cheesy nowadays. They have grown into opposite direction where the music has gone. Covers have gotten more childish.

This new album is great. As good as their early 80's albums.

I'm not really new here, but have been away for some years. I'm 43 years old and been a maiden fan since 1982. Favourite albums are POM, NOTB, Killers, DOD etc. Favourite songs Revelations, Paschendale, Public Enema No1, 22 Acacia Avenue, Fallen Angel, New Frontier ... Other bands I like: Blue...

Just my thoughts. It would be a great achievement for Maiden.

TFF has sold platinum in Finland, which means over 20000. I bet it will be no1 in finnish chart second week in a row.

I agree with your wife. I like all songs except Wildest Dreams and the title track (which has lyrics that don't seem to fit in very well). My favourites are Paschendale, Montsegur and New Frontier. My favourite album since the 80's.
