I didn't say anything about "equally". One could argue about degrees of "gimmickness" sorry for that atrocious word but I'm not that interested in that angle. I meant it in the sense of "do these bands have a recognizable gimmick?" and for both of them the answer is yes, in my opinion.
Maiden...
The main issue with the points raised in the original post is the underlying judgement often seen by people who make those statements. Saying Ghost is a gimmick band (just like Maiden btw ;) ) is fine; saying "they are a gimmick band, which is a negative thing", well that's where people start...
Blaze has played Maiden songs live that they never played, I'm all for Bruce doing the same. Gonna be fun to see how some of those songs will work in a live setting.
Well, LIALW is probably far too obvious, so I'll go with Empire Of The Clouds!
(Because of the "to ride the storm" lyric. There's an article called "Be like a Bison - Walk through your Storms")
They've announced tours mentioning the first leg's year, and then ended up adding further legs down the line.
While it is technically correct that they went out of their way to specify "2025-2026", that alone isn't enough to break their previous pattern of extending tours by additional legs...
Hadn't they already played once to see if he was a good fit at that point? Planning like that takes weeks and months anyway. There's no need to let everyone know as soon as possible.
Uh, nope. Common logic, based on Maiden's previous patterns, says it is entirely within the realm of possibility that the current tour could stretch into 2027.
The "inside info" I very much doubt and only take with a massive mountain of salt, given that we have no idea on how trustworthy it is...
Calling someone out for being elitist or a gatekeeper is a valid criticism. I'm not a fan of Ghost. I've maybe heard three of their songs to this day (despite seeing them open for Maiden in 2013 and hating them lol) and one of those was their cover of Phantom of the Opera. Despite that, I...
Oh you mean like the Maiden England 2012-2014 tour that constantly had added shows and legs and got stretched further than originally planned?
While I genuinely hope that they wont add a 2027 leg to RFYL, it's far from impossible. There's precedent for that.
I'm not disagreeing with your overall point but I'd like to take the chance to address something I've seen expressed quite a few times. I can obviously only talk about myself, so everything I'll write will be my own experience and my own opinions.
Everyone has different ways they experience...
It's pretty interesting, but not surprising, how SIT is longer on average than Powerslave, despite the latter featuring Rime.
All the solo Harris tracks on SIT are pretty long. Even Adrian's songs, that are arguably more mainstream friendly (or at least Wasted Years is) are all at least 5...
