I just re-listened to Brave New World and I'm just in love with Janick's solo  but seriousily, that is really good solo. I like the rest of the song too, but like so many have pointed out: the chorus drags out way too long.
That's an interesting observation, it is also the top-rated SSoaSS song on the commentary pages as well. It's a real masterpiece, and I hope it will get the band's attention on the next history tour.
I think there's a difference between liking a song and wanting to hear it live. Last tour was my first, so I had no such thoughts as to what song I prefer to hear live, but I know alot of people were pissed because songs like Alexander the Great didn't make it. Some good songs can be overplayed.
Isn't that over-generalization? It's a democratic vote, but individuals all have their favourites.
Well, it was fun to follow and vote! Good job SinisterMinisterX :ok:
Re: Iron Maiden Survivor FINAL BATTLE: Hallowed vs. Rime (Jan 5-7)
It might work with the concept, but I think it's boring to listen to, it doesen't feel like the circle is closing, even thought that probably was the idea.
Re: Iron Maiden Survivor FINAL BATTLE: Hallowed vs. Rime (Jan 5-7)
I really don't have an ear for solos, I know Maiden enough to tell the guitarists apart (for the most part), but I could never discuss them in-depth. Do any of you guys have a favourite solo?
Re: Iron Maiden Survivor FINAL BATTLE: Hallowed vs. Rime (Jan 5-7)
Rime of the Ancient Mariner: it's intense, heavy, melodic, atmospheric, poetic and amazing. But I think it drags out far too long, and that return to the main-riff towards just makes it a bit boring. I love the individual parts...
My avatar is just the cover of Theatre of Tragededy's self-titled debut. It made a huge impact on me; the shakespearian-styled lyrics, the beauty/beast approach to vocals and the music (gothic/doom). It really made me realise that metal have no true boundries.
They played 8/10 songs of Brave New World 10/10 songs from A Matter of Life and Death, so there's not much to explore when it comes to the live experience from those two albums. I would like to see the 5 songs from Dance of Death who didn't make it live. But it would highlight the fact that...
Re: Iron Maiden Survivor FINALS: #5 tiebreaker (Dec 30 - Jan 1)
Rime of the Ancient Mariner
I really like Infinite Dreams and I hope it wins, the lyrics and melodies are just...
Re: Iron Maiden Survivor FINALS: 6 songs left (Dec 26-28)
Did I just vote for Phantom of the Opera, Hallowed Be Thy Name and Rime of the Ancient Mariner as my least favourite songs on the list?
:(
It's been a while since I listened to that one. I always saw Virus as a conclusion of the ''X-Factor sound''. Just listen to that crowd when the main melody starts
