Bayley-era Maiden vs. Martin-era Black Sabbath vs. Ripper-era Judas Priest?

The second, maybe. The first one is mostly somewhere between trash quality and underwhelming filler material - and I dreamt of K.K. and Ripper joining forces for years and the disappointment with Sermons of the Sinner was palpable, to say the least.

    USA Politics

There's massive difference between Sweden 2025 and Sweden 2005 and even more compared to the late 80s. I think the public perception of Sweden is that of how it was in the late 80's and 90s (when the transition started to happen). You know that the education system here is broken when Trump has...

    USA Politics

Lol, Sweden is mini USA at this point. What "Left"? We're going triple down economics, New Public Management, deregulations, privatizations, the world's most extreme school system with tax funded corporate owned schools and less and less social programs.

    USA Politics

And the fact is, millions have radicalized into far right. 30% of the voting eligible U.S. population are MAGA die-hards. They are transforming the country into a dictatorship and are in absolute power. How is that comparable to a nutcase at a conference in Iran?

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

Just wait until you hear the first KK's Priest record that he mixed. Needless to say, for the sophomore record, K.K. put some money down and got the Danish guy that does Primal Fear and UDO mix it instead.

    Black Sabbath

No, but I believe Steve has cited Geezer as a big early influence for him as a bass player.

    Nicko McBrain

Valid point! And for the record, I think Maiden's set is awesome and I think Nicko's set is awesome.

    Nicko McBrain

That's not a relevant argument though. This is a for-fun gig, not an Iron Maiden concert.

    Janick's role in post-reunion Maiden

So we're now at four other live acts mentioned in this thread, roughly within the same trajectory of Metal music.

    18th Studio Album discussion

The power won't be a problem in the studio. That's what extra compression is for, and a bit of sample replacement/reinforcement. Ian Paice doesn't drum with a lot of power these days, and haven't for many years, and it works fine.

His Titanium Tarts rendition of Rime was good. He will be able to play properly enough.

    Janick's role in post-reunion Maiden

I did not, especially since all his posts in this thread are basically "why is Janick in the band?"

    Janick's role in post-reunion Maiden

That’s an incredibly dismissive thing to say about the guy with loads of songwriting credits.

Adrian, Janick and Dave's guitars and Steve's basses

Do we have a source on this?

    Janick's role in post-reunion Maiden

Geoff Tate regularly has three guitarists in his live band playing QR songs. Queensryche were a dual guitar band.

    Janick's role in post-reunion Maiden

I suppose they think the extra harmony is more important than the typical power chording. Both are viable options.

Bayley-era Maiden vs. Martin-era Black Sabbath vs. Ripper-era Judas Priest?

I am not saying he doesn’t go crazy-face. I am saying is that he has the ability as frontman to engage with and energize the crowd. The gig I caught in 2008 was electrifying. Blaze grabbed people by the head at the front row, locked eyes and sang into your face. He would knuckle bump and shake...
