Four of my favorites gone in one fell swoop.
A Dramatic Turn of Events
Black Clouds and Silver Linings
British Lion
Nightmare
Th1rt3en
Wasting Light
Worship Music
Yellow and Green
Not more Coma votes... and TWAT. Two of my top three.
Man, I'm so surprised to see Used To Love Her in the top 2 of GN'R Lies. It's by far my least favorite from the EP and easily one of my least favorite songs of theirs. I even like Silkworms more. :p
Like I did last round, I'll wait and...
The Black album
Images and Words
Fair Warning
I was gonna vote for IE's album but I liked it a lot more than I remembered when I relistened to it. So for now, I'll pick on one of my least favorite of the "classic" Van Halen albums. Truthfully, the only Van Halen album I see going very far is...
I've heard three of those several times (since I agree 100% with you that you should never give up on a band/album/song after only one listen). Maybe I'll try again later, but I just remember being so impressed by how unimpressed I was. It's strange because they're the kind of band where it...
It's because soul is by definition so subjective that something that might sound absolutely gorgeous to one person will sound like overdramatic rubbish to another. For instance, Queensryche's (sorry, too lazy to use the right "y") "No Sanctuary." I can tell Geoff Tate is trying to be emotive...
Only speaking for myself, they're all great musicians, but that's all I get out of their songs. When I listen to Rush, I don't just hear brilliant musicians; I hear some genuine emotions. I believe what they're putting forth. It's hard to describe because it's entirely subjective. I can sit...
Matt Barlow has corrupted you.
If the World
Shackler's Revenge
Er, I'll only vote for two songs because the third lowest ranked song remaining on this list would be blasphemous to vote for. :p
My problem with DT is that I just don't believe what they're trying to say. It's almost like every song is eight minutes of wankery (granted I haven't heard every single album).
With IE, I just don't remember the majority of the album. It's been a long time since I've listened to a full IE album.
Ah, that makes sense. They probably were inspired from that. They kinda took the reggae thing to another level in live performances like in 7:45 in this video (though it was always in brief random spurts).
I will say to their credit that it's a ton of fun when you're in the audience. :p
I don't think live albums count since Strangers in the Night and Unleashed in the East* were excluded from the poll. I meant In Utero.
* Wait can this count as a studio album? :p
Because you are absolutely insane.
And so are you. :p
I've honestly never understood people saying they don't like something because it sounds dated. I actually love music more if it sounds dated. Like The Doors. I 100% agree they sound dated as hell, but that's what I like about them. I...
