Okay, that’s your opinion, and I respect it. Everyone’s ears hear differently. But to me it’s bizarre to say RJD’s singing is not emotional. Never heard that criticism before. I love RJD and miss him tremendously.
And someone criticized him for his medleys in concert, but I love his medleys. I...
I just watched my Rainbow 1977 concert DVD. RJD is full of emotion and power in his singing, very passionate. Or watch Lonely Is the Word video from the Heaven and Hell DVD from New York. Incredibly emotional. Here it is:
Also listen to Tony Iommi’s incredible solo. Maiden is the...
I don't know, Bruce has always sounded great to me. I think there's a lot of nitpicking about his performances. I think he's incredible, even with a few minor stumbles here and there. The whole greatly outweighs the sum of the parts with Bruce.
I can't experience Maiden live this year, but I got invited tonight to an Imagine Dragons concert. Never heard of them. Should I go?
Edit: Just watched a video. Seems like some weird rappy shit. The guy who invited me is a Maiden fan and a guitar player. What the hell is this???
Good to see TRATB getting the credit it deserves. It's a great song, amazing live experience. The "hate" (relatively) it gets on this forum is odd to me.
"Iron Maiden" doesn't work on the Legacy of the Beast Tour because of the giant Baphomet Eddie on stage during the song.
There is NO WAY I will cheer to an image of the enemy. I am extremely disappointed in Maiden for taking this route. This forum can laugh at me if it wants to. This is dead...
For the 2019 setlist, I predict Maiden will switch out 2 songs - 1 deep-cut epic, and 1 classic:
- For the Greater Good of God —> When the Wild Wind Blows; and
- The Evil that Men Do —> Caught Somewhere in Time.
If Maiden had gotten a better singer after Bruce, then late 90s Maiden might have been more successful. In that case Bruce might never have returned.
Blaze’s ineptitude saved Maiden.
The studio version of The Clansman was never one of my favorite songs, but I admit the live version sounds electric. I imagine it is an incredible live experience when the crowd is singing along. Who doesn't love "FREEDOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!"???? I haven't experienced this yet. Hope I do on US...
No, he was not pretty bad on LAD. The energy and passion in his singing is incredible on LAD. Those versions of the songs are iconic, for good reason.
Bruce has gotten better as a vocalist over time, but it is ridiculous to say he was ever "bad". That simply is not true, and the band's wild...
