Davey’s freak out solo on When the Wild Wind Blows.
Davey’s soulful first Powerslave solo.
Adrian’s heart-wrenching solo on Tears of a Clown.
Both Davey’s and Adrian’s explosive orgasmic solos on Rime of the Ancient Mariner.
Goodbye, my Blood Brothers. I am deleting my account.
It's time for me to get off of various internet message boards and spend my energies elsewhere in life. I apologize to anyone I offended or antagonized.
Up the irons forever!
Edit: Can't figure out how to delete account... LOL
I hope in 2019 they’ll be touring a new album. Shame we didn’t get the Legacy tour in the US in 2018, but we know the time is short. So I prefer they get on with a new album and tour before it’s too late.
That’s not realistic, though, I think. They’re not going to pull the shorter classic rockers like 2MTM or The Trooper. It would have to replace a longer deep cut (since that’s what Paschendale is).
Two lines in Brave New World reveal incredible truth (for those who have ears to hear):
"what you see is not real, those who know will not tell"; and
"you are planned, you are damned in this brave new world".
But it will never happen. Steve and Bruce play what they want to play because they know what works. I wish we would just accept that and be thankful that Maiden is still here and enjoy it for what it is (which is great) for as long as we are fortunate enough to do so.
There are always LOTS of people at a Maiden show for the first time and people who haven’t seen them in decades. Those classic overplayed songs are for them. Listen how the crowd pops when they play The Trooper or Fear of the Dark. Steve and Bruce know what they’re doing.
The rest of us just...
Flight of Icarus was the first Maiden song I ever heard. Blew me away. Haven’t heard it live since I saw Maiden on the World Slavery Tour!
I hope Icarus, Little Brucie and the boys come my way in 2019!
Why don’t you try cutting back on the constant negativity. It’s okay to express a contrary opinion, but you are relentless and more repetitive than a reunion-era Steve Harris song. Enjoy Maiden for what they are!
