Can we all please rate The Book Of Souls as one complete album? Not 2 separte discs.

TBOS is, for me, just a little bit longer than the last 2 albums, and I regularly listen to them from beginning to end.

    Run to the Hills

This was the first song I ever heard by Iron Maiden. The drum intro is immediately memorable and the music pairs very well with the imagery of the lyrics. It gets some unfair flack due to being Maiden's most well known song. The chorus is incredible, easily one of Bruce's best performances, if...

    The Number of the Beast

One of Maiden's most well known and overplayed tracks. The band also received unfair criticism due to the lyrics of this song. However, putting all this aside, it is an absolute classic. The main riff is very memorable, providing a dark and menacing atmosphere for Bruce's vocals. His scream is...

    Shadows Of The Valley

Several reviews have compared the intro to Wasted Years. I'm interested to hear how accurate those comparisons are.

    Your favorite Maiden guitar sound

Somewhere in Time for it's ethereal quality. AMOLAD for it's raw, heaviness.

Iron Maiden songs that you flat out dislike?

Worst: The Angel and the Gambler, Weekend Warrior, The Apparition, Hooks in You, Chains of Misery Second Tier: Holy Smoke, Fear is the Key, From Here to Eternity, Don't Look To The Eyes of a Stranger FOTD really is easily their most uneven album. Half is utterly brilliant and the the other...

    22, Acacia Avenue

The palm muted intro initially made me skip this one early into my Maiden fandom, but my attention span wasn't quite what it is today. Good thing I gave it another chance, because there are some great riffs and two solos that perfectly complement each other. Much better lyrics than the first...

    The Prisoner

One of the most memorable choruses in the Maiden catalog. Bruce sounds amazing. Musically, it's nothing too special, but I like the driving verse riff and Adrian's solo is classic. 9/10

Five years later: The Final Frontier revisited

My expectations for TFF were unfairly high, which caused a little bit of initial disappointment. Being the follow up to AMOLAD, one of my favorite albums ever, and the first new release since I had become a fan, there was no way it could have lived up to my own hype. It has become a fairly...

"The Book of Souls" - Official pre-release thread (CONTAINS ALBUM SPOILERS)

According to my last.fm, I first listened to the non-singles of TFF on August 9, 2010.

It's sickening how underrated Lord of Light is

Christianity borrowed ideas and symbols from many other myths, including the Eye of Horus.

It's sickening how underrated Lord of Light is

It's no different than any other mythology they write about e.g Flight of the Icarus, Powerslave, Book of Souls.

    Your Maiden blasphemy

I wouldn't argue with DOD, but Alchemist to me is just meh.

A Matter of Life and Death Dissection

I've had AMOLAD in my car for weeks at a time. It's one of the few albums I never get tired of.

Tournament of Maiden Solos: the Top 10 video!

I'm not a fan of that solo, it's too messy for me, with muted strings and no melody. GOTN however is Janick at his best.

What is your least favorite Maiden song?

I like Fortunes of War, but Blaze's vocals and the boring chorus are what really hurt it. The instrumental parts are excellent.
