"Classics"... Know what else is classic? Gangland. Sure glad Maiden doesn't have to tell that tale anymore.
Oh yeah, and as far as production snafus and the love for Martin Birch, riddle me this: why is Bruce flat on the second verse (after the solos) of Aces High?
This is heavy metal...
This is probably my least favorite track on the album. The whoa-oh-oh part is a little annoying, to be honest. Other than that, great instrumental section. As LooseCannon said, this is one heavy album.
I'm not trying to be a dick, but what's with all the negativity about the album? To those select few who either don't like it (or don't want to like it), what the hell do you want?
Maybe my ears are busted, but to me, Book of Souls sounds like a cross between Brave New World and A Matter of...
I couldn't wait until next Friday... and I feel guilty for downloading it. Oh well.
I've only listened to If Eternity Should Fail, The Great Unknown, and The Red and the Black so far, but I can already say this album is far superior to Final Frontier both in terms of songwriting and production...
I write songs and I think there's only so much you can do with similar instruments. Having three guitars opens up the possibility to have a harmony going with a riff in the background, and as was said in the interview, you can play it live. Parts don't have to be dropped. That said, I understand...
My main issue with Final Frontier was that Bruce's voice sounded weak. Even on Talisman, he seemed to be straining to hit notes and had a "breathy" sound. I chalked it up to age. Now we're getting reviews saying he sounds amazing on the new album, so I'm not sure what to believe. From the...
Maybe. I figured it meant he had set it aside for a while. Don't get me wrong, I'm freaking out with excitement for Speed of Light and the new album. The fourth can't get her soon enough.
This might sound insane, but I think I'm more excited that Bruce essentially confirmed he's working on another solo album than I am for Book of Souls. According to the twitter review, If Eternity Should Fail was supposed to be the title track from his new album. Way to be a team player, Bruce!
Doubtful. Stores get fined hugely for breaking release dates, and Best Buy isn't some mom and pop store that can get away with it. The record company and distributor will be notified. Whichever store broke the street date could also face retribution from the various parties involved, such as...
I checked the PO and we're supposed to get eight in. I only saw four in the box I opened up.
Earendil, I'll take a picture of the soft box tomorrow if I remember. I believe the cover has been online before; it's the same as the album cover but in black and white. I have no idea what the shirt...
I work at Best Buy and I can confirm that (at least my store) we've got the Speed of Light singles in stock. They arrived today via UPS. It sucks that the t-shirts all seem to be extra large. That's a couple sizes too big.
Oh, and no, I can't take one early! Well, I could... but you know what I...
