I can't understand this attitude to the Trooper, it's a song about a battle that took place in the Crimean War FFS!
If anyone knows anything about British Military history they will know that thousands of Scottish and Irish men and women have served in the British Armed forces over the years...
If Bruce is declining (and it's a big IF as far as I'm concerned) he will still be a better singer and front man than the vast majority of he's peers as far as I'm concerned.
I take it you've never grown up or lived in an inner city council estate then? You know the sort of place, where drug dealing and petty crime are a way of life, where "gangs" control access to and from the stairwells and lifts etc?
Where the old bill are wary of entering the area and...
We saw them in Dublin in 2010 and they didn't play it then, although the setlist was drawn mostly from the "reunion" albums which may have been the reason and nothing to do with Bruce waving the Union Flag around.
Having said that afterwards in the bar people were complaining because they...
I don't think they did as I saw them in Barcelona on the 2nd Leg and they dropped ATSS for Revelations and The Clairvoyant for Sanctuary I seem to recall?
That's my sentiments exactly. As I have said before they are a bunch of blokes well into their fifties who play nearly 2 hours a gig, you cannot expect them to do the 150+ gig tours that they used to. I'm just grateful that they are still touring at all, and I and my friends (and family!) will...
Outgrew her as an inspiration for he's music and lyrics most probably.
However for someone who was obviously heavily influenced by her philosophy and her writing to the extent he was, I find it hard to believe she has no relevance to him anymore?
Well it would have to be Maiden for me. Despite their phenomenal success over the years they still seem the sort of blokes you could easily have a pint and a natter with without any pretensions or DIVA like behaviour (even Bruce!)
IIRC I’ve read about Steve and Janick going to football as...
Couldn't agree more old boy, I LOVE this song, was one of the "stand out" tracks when I first heard the new album and it has stayed with me ever since.
I was chuffed that they played it live and I hope it's not dropped for next years(?) tour!
What annoys me about Iron Maiden is their so called fans constantly bitching because the band:
a ) ....don't play gigs on their doorstep as they couldn't possibly be expected to make the effort to travel a bit to see them, perish the thought! I mean they're only a bunch of blokes well into...
Do you really think they will be that much? For the O2 gigs on the ME tour in 2013 the top price was £55.00
I'd be very surprised if they jump up £35-40?
On a general note for what it's worth I think Maiden tickets are very reasonably priced when compared to other bands of their stature?
