Interesting post.
I was a massive anathema fan back in the day. Just as my taste in metal was edging towards the more extreme styles along comes the debut albums from the likes of my dying bride and Anathema. These blew my mind and along with paradise lost and decomposed I was totally into the...
I would love to see Rush back on the stage.
I wouldn’t want them to do any new music without Neil but a big concert or small tour honouring the Rush and Neil Peart legacy with a guest drummer.
But I don’t see the desire to write a new album either.
Senjutsu is technically 6 years old this year and with the upcoming tour I can’t see them having any time to record a new album over the next year. Every time Maiden get some down time Steve runs off and books British lion tours, Adrian...
Thing is if Maiden don’t release a live album from TFP tour then that just says they are done releasing anything musical anymore. No live albums and no studio albums.
All we’ll get is loads more t-shirts and other assorted tat released and maybe a new trooper beer variant.
To me it feels like...
I’ve bought your previous books and there not cheap but that’s it now, officially done buying anything you release.
Sick of spending over £50 + postage for a book then seeing an updated new edition released later down the road.
You’re 100% holding back stuff on purpose just to add to a new...
I really doubt anyone fell for a new maiden album coming called treasure island announced on the 1st of April.
Personally wasn’t complaining as such just think why bother, it’s so fake it’s not even funny.
It would be much better if the effort was put in to really make it sound like it could...
Looks like roadrunner are finally reissuing Symbolic on vinyl for the albums 30th anniversary.
Been wanting this album for ages on vinyl, had my cd version ever since it was released but now have the vinyl on pre order.
Hopefully this will piss off all the scalpers flogging copies on eBay for...
That’s a lot of effort to go to for something so obviously fake. Don’t know why people bother to waste their life on stupid shit like this.
It’s so fake it’s not even mildly funny.
Fair enough, good business then really.
As for selling off the rights permanently like the thread suggests then I don’t ever see this happening whilst the band are alive, not just active.
Steve is very old school and I can’t see him ever just selling the bands rights away. I’m sure it’s not...
The band have done something like this already.
Back when Bruce and Adrian rejoined in 1999 the band took out a £30mil bond, basically a loan and they were able to do this by pledging the royalties from the songs as repayment of the loan.
I’m not sure of the exact details, ie did they actually...
I think you did the right thing and this was an extreme circumstance so as a fan if I was in the audience I’d rather you did this than cancel.
Plus you told the fans rather than try to hide it so us fans always appreciate a bands honesty.
Just looking over the ed force one tags thread and it makes you think. We’ve been talking about will they or won’t they release this new doc on dvd/blu ray and then into the subject of any dvd/blu ray and how the band and Rod don’t think they’ll sell enough to make it worthwhile.
If Maiden can...
Getting back to the subject matter of the thread and thinking about the discussion over the last couple of pages I’d be royally pissed if I can’t buy a copy of this documentary when it’s released.
Sure I’ll try and watch it in the cinema if it’s on at one near enough to me and I wouldn’t even...
All this talk of physical media sales declining does baffle me. I mean in the one hand yes, dvd and blu ray sales are down and more people are streaming but, there’s bands a lot smaller than Maiden still putting out dvds/blu rays and box sets etc. plus there are still shops and online outlets...
Wishful thinking I know but I would love it if the documentary was like the recent Death by metal film about the band Death.
That was a superb documentary and whilst celebrating one of the greatest death metal bands it also never glossed over the bad times and wasn’t afraid to say that chuck...
I do think this documentary will cover all aspects of the bands history from the early pub days, through the Paul Years, the Bruce years and will also include the Blaze years and then on to the reunion.
This doesn’t need to be like Metallica’s some kind of monster and shouldn’t be a therapy...
