Legacy Of The Beast Post-Pandemic Leg

This is a good point. It seems bizarre that they would continue with the Legacy tour just a short time after releasing a new album. Presumably those dates will be part of the Senjutsu tour now?

    The Angel and the Gambler

Harris was brought up a Christian but now struggles with it. Hence the obsession with death and salvation.

Iron Maiden studio album 17 rumours and speculations

I buy this argument tbh i.e. it's so random in the video and out of keeping with the story that it must have some greater significance. It makes no sebse with the rest of the story for them to go "Oh ok and let's have a fidth eddir appear on top of the four we already have AND be a samurai AND...

Iron Maiden studio album 17 rumours and speculations

I feel like there is more to Balshazzar's Feast than just the single and music video. For one thing, the taglines on the poster saying "Heaven Or Hell", "Man or Beast" must be significant in some way. There are a few other Biblical references in the music video that suggest this is a wider...

Iron Maiden studio album 17 rumours and speculations

The story is set during the Exile, after Israel was conquered by Babylon and some of the Israelites were taken to Babylon. The exile and its impact on the Hebrew Bible and religion is fascinating but, to explain the name changes - it's part of the Babylonian empire's policy of assimilation. The...

    NOW PLAYING

This seems to be saying that if the family are Eastern Orthodox, they would not have icons. The Christian Eastern Orthodox Church are extremely keen on Icons. In most Orthodox Churches there is an Iconostasis (a wall covered in icons, usually of the Holy Family) separating the main body of the...

    The Angel and the Gambler

I have a bit of a soft spot for this song. I saw Blaze perform his own version of it a couple of years ago and it was great fun. If it were 3 or 4 minutes long (like the single edit) it would be pretty good, or at least a lot better. The bit at the start where the rhythm section kicks in is...

    The Problem with the X-Factor?

The X Factor is, in my opinion, the most underrated Iron Maiden album. It contains some of my favourite Iron Maiden tracks (Sign of the Cross, for example) and I'm a big fan of Blaze's solo career. I will absolutely "die on the hill" of defending this album, which I love. I get the impression...

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction

100% this. Whoever was fronting Iron Maiden from 1995-1998, the band would have had the same problems. It's also worth pointing out that the dodgy production and creative direction decisions on X Factor and Virtual XI weren't the fault of Blaze.

    Blaze Bayley

Might be able to make the Ballymena gig. Strange that he's playing there rather than, say, Belfast or any of the other settlements in NI that are bigger. Oh well. Saw him at the Camden Underworld a few years ago on the last of the trilogy tours. He puts on a good show. Would be great to see...

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction

cannot disagree with this enough. Regardless of Blaze's impact, he was the frontman of the band for 4 years. The RnRHoF is a total irrelevance, and to my mind that's confirmed by excluding him from the nomination.

If you were able to travel back in time and attend a show, which one would you choose?

There are about half a dozen Iron Maiden tours I would kill to travel back in time and see. Somewhere on Tour probably just about pips the Seventh Tour of a Seventh Tour to the post though, since there's no live DVD of that tour and fewer of the songs were ever performed again. Three other...

Legacy Of The Beast Post-Pandemic Leg

Strongly suspect that the Legacy of the Beast shows for 2021 will be cancelled and that will be the end of LOTB. The vaccine situation in continental Europe won't allow for large concerts there at least until 2022. The absence of "Legacy of the Beast Tour" branding on the Download 2022...

Create your own Iron Maiden setlist!

When the Legacy of the Beast announced I thought this wa sa great chance for the band to air some songs that had never or rarely been played before. They sort of did this with Flight of Icarus and Sign of the Cross, but I would love to see them go all out touring with a setlist composed (almost)...

Make Your "never played live before" + Iron Maiden setlist

Saw an excellent Angry Metal Guy article on a similar theme several years ago. When they announced the legacy of the Beast tour I really thought they would take the chance to air some songs that had never or rarely been played live before. Slightly expanding on your theme, this setlist is...
