    The Future Past tour 2023

so ... is Heaven Can Wait one of those "Concert Wonders" type of songs? You know, the kinds of songs that really don't come over very well on live albums, but when you're right there in the heat of the crowd and singing along and listening for great guitar, bass, and drum lines to groove along...

    Senjutsu - 20 Months Later

not to forget the way Bruce vocalizes in the final stanza before the second theme is introduced: "Sweet revenge will be ours Vengeance of a shaken world Just remember that patience is no sin And to find another way Live to breathe another day Lord of light in the DARKNESS OUR GUIDE" I...

    Senjutsu - 20 Months Later

one of the key aspects that moved my like of The Parchment to becoming a LOVE (and eventually a top 20 all time Maiden song) was when I connected with Nicko's punctuation of the rhythm guitar parts and (especially) Bruce's vocal lines. Granted, there isn't many traditional vocal "hooks" to...

Piece Of Mind 40th anniversary next year

I would love to see Where Eagles Dare in place of Revelations, Aces, High, Two Minutes to Midnight, and even (gasp!) The Trooper. I understand that the last song in my list above is unlikely to ever bow out of an IM setlist, but a man can dream.

    The real problem with Virtual

This post had a love react until you denigrated THE APPARITION, LOL! (my 4th favorite song from FoTD, and the title track ISN'T in my top 3 ....) In the end, your post still deserves a hearty LIKE :D and the Title Track happens to be my 5th favorite song on the Fear of the Dark album ...

    Judas Priest

Wow, impressive! Thanks for the share. Huge fan of Southern Rock and bands that hail from the South, Kylesa doesn't disappoint! Really like how they build to the melodic chorus near the 3 minute mark - an aspect of Maiden's style on later albums (especially Senjutsu) that I've grown to love -...

    Judas Priest

A two-drummer metal band would be very interesting (has it been done before)? I'm a huge fan of Southern Rock and a semi-fan of Jam Bands (both genres often feature two - or sometimes three - drummers/percussionists)

    Senjutsu - 20 Months Later

Fully agreed. Its way up there for me too, though I never can quite decide whether I prefer Parchment or Lost in a Lost World - I love them both for unique and different reasons. Book of Souls, Isle of Avalon, Starblind, No More Lies, The Thin Line Between Love and Hate -- just a few of...

The Final Frontier: individual album judgement by yours truly

Isle of Avalon is my all-time favorite Iron Maiden song that isn't named Caught Somewhere in Time or The Parchment

    The Future Past tour 2023

its a wonderful guitar tone for sure -- that being said, has ANYBODY come close to Maiden's SiT guitar tone? Maiden's tone wasn't quite the same even just 2 years later on the Seventh Son album. Could it be that Somewhere in Time's guitar tone is indeed trapped somewhere in time, never to be...

    The Future Past tour 2023

and to be fair to Bruce, Aces High is has been the very last song in the set. At the show I attended, he started sounding a bit winded around the closing song (before the encores), "Iron Maiden" He runs around on stage a lot - likely walking a fine tightrope between being an engaging showman...

    The Future Past tour 2023

Partially agreed - Bruce is sounding tired on some songs (Aces High) but not so much on others (Sign of the Cross and- surprisingly - Flight of Icarus)

    Senjutsu - 20 Months Later

there's many layers to Senjutsu - likely Maiden's most progressive album.

    The Future Past tour 2023

The Isle of Avalon and Starblind would probably be fantastic live. And "No More Lies" would be timely, since everyone is hyper-political these days and spends a good deal of time pointing fingers at one another on social media.

    Iron Maiden Statistics

would've been interesting if either Childhood's End or Judas Be My Guide were played on the first 1-2 nights of the FoTD tour. (two excellent tracks that should've been played in concert)

    The Future Past tour 2023

I'm still hopeful for *either* ATG or CSiT: They haven't been played as often as ID, so they have no way of knowing if they "work" or not.

    Your Maiden blasphemy

differing P.O.V. on LIALW - those piledriving riffs and the seamless transitions best TRATB for me. Steve may have taken notes from Tool/Maynard James Keenan - yet his melodicism is on a totally different level than Tool's often lackluster melodies.

    Your Maiden blasphemy

I'm not a big AMOLAD fan either. These Colours Don't Run, The Pilgrim, and FtGGoG are the ones I go back to most often and even then not that much. my least-played reunion era album. that being said, I'm a huge fan of Senjutsu - and it seems that AMOLAD and Senjutsu are beginning to be lumped...
