    Judas Priest

Ian Hill just had another dig at KK on blabberbitch “Andy really is the perfect fit for us”etc

Which band should have a lineup change?

They should. But they seem intent on driving a point home, that they are better off without him.. every interview there seems to be a clever dig at Ken “Andy is really is perfect replacement” etc Yet the new boy Andy Sneep just looks lost on stage and out of place. Many of Glenn’s solos being...

Steve Harris: one of the greatest metal songwriters ever or a magpie?

Steve also loses points for basing nearly all his songs on movies for me. I think he got the 666 thing from the Genesis song “Suppers Ready”. Random thought.

    Judas Priest

I’m glad Epitaph wasn’t the last tour, because Priest have released one of their best ever albums in Firepower against all odds.

1985 release double CD live after death

Hi Don you may have seen this posted elsewhere but the original cd release by emi was a single disc only release. The original cassette was a double and also a double LP. Are you referring to the double cd from 1995 which had a second disc featuring 3 bonus tracks? The first double cd of the...

Why not Paul Dianno instead of Blaze?

Probably why he was cloaked in Black the whole time.

Why Judas Priest aren't as popular as Iron Maiden?

P Yeah but Priest do the same set for the last 30 years. Shame as Firepower is so great.

Why not Paul Dianno instead of Blaze?

Simple. Even by 94 Paul was bald & fat. Didn’t you notice Blaze was chosen because he looked like Bruce? Irrespective of the voice.

Original 1985 release double CD live after death

Just to be clear. The original cd release was a single disc only. There was a double cassette containing extra tracks, as well as the original vinyl. The first double cd disc of the full concert was apparently the 98 remaster, not 95.

His alternate TAILGUNNER sleeve was great for NPFTD ..

Official Iron Maiden artwork and fan drawn Eddies (no AI images please)

I like Grant’s VXI and loved FOTD, but I thought TFF was an abomination. I also loved his Eldorado sleeve, it would have served much better as the album cover. I’m also a fan of Marillion artist Mark Wilkinson who designed TBOS. However I will always stand by the notion Derek Riggs should be...

Why Judas Priest aren't as popular as Iron Maiden?

Priest are bigger than Maiden in America sales wise as you say. They had a couple of radio hits which pushed the albums sales As a live band Halford blew almost everyone away in his prime, and he had the best pipes in metal history. Management is a factor, also since the reunions Bruce is...

1988: SSoaSS or O:M or AJFA?

Mindcrime is possibly my favourite ever album, it’s just faultless and a masterpiece, settling the bar so high QR could never top it. Have seen it performed live, you either get it or you don’t.

    Worldwide album sales

Wayne is right, NPFTD & FOTD we’re both well received at the time even by some of the mainstream music press such as Q magazine. They were still popular going well into 93.. I was aware Adrian had left but yeah most fans didn’t see it as a major problem or achnowledge it. But I do remember...

Vocalists that were auditioned for Bruce Dickinson's replacement in 1993

The first time I heard MOTE I was disappointed it wasn’t the intro The Evil That Men Do.
