I totally agree with @sjsaur and @Mosh and i might even, as I might have said before (I'm old, a little bit of alzheimer every now and then ;) ) skip this and other forums around the release just so I can make up my own mind of the record before hearing others opinion.
I just love this thread so much. It's so refreshing hearing these opinions (also they quite often make me go back to underrated tracks and see if I can find a new angle to them)
I found some time in between the customers, here's my suggestion (unlistened, though):
Be Quick or Be Dead
Holy Smoke
Childhood's End
The Assassin
Run Silent Run Deep
Afraid to Shoot Strangers
Weekend Warrior
Chains of Misery
Fates Warning
The Apparition
No Prayer for the Dying...
Interesting concept!
I would have balanced them more, now it feelseems like most of the good songs are on the A-list and the other one are the leftovers...
I feel like doing a suggestion myself, but don't think I'll have the time right now...
I'm going to approach this as if was forced to change the titles, and disregard present artwork, otherwise it's too hard.
1. Running free
2. Purgatory
3. Hallowed be thy name
4. Revelations
5. The ancient mariner
6. No brave new world
7. Moonchild (the evil that men do)
8. Dance of the Tsars...

It has been gone for a while, super annoying since my computer (and my cd's) is packed away over the summer so i can't listen to it...
I do have some of the songs on different collections I've made though, so it's not that bad.
The final frontier, for pretty much the same reasons @sjsaur mentioned. To me it's like a best of post-renuion-styles album almost without unnecessary repetiotions and with enough fresh ideas to not sound boring. I also feel it has the most different emotions in the different songs, maybe...
I'm pretty excited over the prospect of not having Steves hand in all the songs, much for the same reasons you gave above. Even though I don't have as much of a problem with it as you seem to have it will feel a bit fresh and be interesting for sure. I'm just a little bit worried that they will...
