One Day Like This is one of my least favourite songs ever. Occassionally a local band/guitarist will play it as a medley with Hey Jude, my absolute least favourite song ever, which has only made me hate the Elbow tune more.

Which Maiden songs we should consider as a ballads/power ballads ?

Eh, like Spaldy said, if you widen the goalposts enough then yeah, it's got calmer verses and big, powerful, anthemic choruses like most power ballads, but the feel is totally different.

In what world is Poison a power ballad? It's nothing like the other songs you listed.

Can this still be real or just some crazy dream?

A quite literal interpretation: you have a problem weighing on your mind that you think is a big deal. You want people to notice, to offer their advice and help you through it, but in reality you're making a mountain of a molehill and it'll all work itself out.

    Now Playing (Video Games)

Playing games with other people almost gives me performance anxiety, and I have a bit of a short attention span so playing with someone will usually lead to me losing interest before they do... which could actually be less a short attention span and more me just not wanting to play with someone...

I'd say Arctic Monkeys too actually, but for the AM album. That's another one where you can hear the experimentation, maturing and refinement of their sound on the previous albums leading up to it. It's a great album, but it also has some of the experimentation and pretentiousness that led to...

Interesting question that my friend and I were discussing the other day; What artists have one album that really resonated with you, but nothing else in their discography managed to do the same? This isn't to say "what's your favourite album by whatever band?", like, I wouldn't say Maiden are a...

    NOW PLAYING

I'm only half-liking these posts for putting Chemical Wedding under Accident of Birth ;) I still listen to Chemical Wedding and would place it above Skunkworks, but Accident is my favourite Bruce album by a long way.

TREASURE ISLAND - New Maiden Album (June 6)

It's a bit of a Maidenfans tradition to have a fake new album announced on April Fools, I don't think the intent was for anyone to fall for it. I commend Diesel for having the imagination to be able to go into so much detail.

    Mastodon

Ben discusses the Mastodon gig. He goes into a bit of detail over the guitar gear he used, your mileage may vary on how interesting you find that but I thought it was a fun and interesting watch. The feedback to him has also been incredibly positive and supportive, which is great to see and...

    Brag Thread

After teasing it for well over a year, it's been confirmed that I'm getting a pay rise at work. Not just me, everyone on my team, but it's well earned and much appreciated. It's a 16% increase, still a fairly modest salary, but I turned 30 last week and have been thinking a lot about moving out...

So did Lemmy (same title), though to be fair to him he was far less offensive than Nugent.

    Crappy album covers

Not bad as an unfinished concept piece, guess they couldn't afford to pay the artist to finish it.

Well, having completely lost my patience with the incessant ads, I'm now over to Brave too. Read mixed things about how well it still handles ads on YT so we'll see how long I stick with it.

The biggest douchebags in Metal and Rock

Yeah, I feel like there's a big difference between being a douchebag (side note, I've always hated this term) and being flat-out criminal like a murderer or having sex with teenagers so this list feels a little skewed. Anyway, my vote would be Gene Simmons for having his head rammed firmly up...

I heard he was a bit of a prick and I thought Cat Scratch Fever sucked when I first heard it so I never felt the need to look any further into him
