I think this is one of the reasons why management fought so hard against video uploads. From what I can tell, the entire production is intended to be immersive between the rear screen itself, the extended smaller screens onstage taking the place of what was drapery, and the massive light rig...
As for the Ai criticisms...I don't know that that is the source for the video backdrops used on this tour. I work professionally as an illustrator (comics, storyboards, children's books) and am more than a little vested in this technology and how it's affecting my field. In most of the...
Look, I was there in 1983 when "Piece Of Mind" dropped following the mega-popular and successful "The Number Of The Beast." As were some of you. I can tell you that thankfully social media did not exist at that time because the very same whining and unfounded criticisms being levied at Simon...
Well, that's silly to say it's their fault for not attending a prior tour. Too many reasons factor into that situation; age, for one. Finances are another. I'm fortunate; I saw the "Powerslave" tour in 1985. But for someone who just watched a YouTube clip and thought how cool would it be to see...
Bruce described the setlist as the best songs by the band from the first nine albums. In their view, "Aces High" is one of those songs.
I think that "22 Acacia Avenue," "The Prisoner," or "Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter" would fit much better than "Aces" in that encore slot. But gotta...
Bruce has introduced him as the newest member of Iron Maiden, their new drummer, and similar. And reportedly he's listed as drummer in the tour programme. No qualifiers.
Individual songs will show up after the gigs in a given city but you gotta catch them or risk them being pulled down. And full shows..? Other than one of the Budapest shows, fuhgeddaboutit.
Bruce has been introducing him from the stage as "Our new drummer," "the newest member of Iron Maiden" and similar terms without specifying "for this tour" or "our new touring drummer."
Not trying to create any kind of conspiracy topics at all...just observing. Likely means nothing.
You're right; brain fart on my end. Just went back and listened to Budapest where they nailed it for comparison; something was off as they transitioned from the solo section back to the harmony part before the time change.
Re "POTO" in Stockholm, wow what a massive FUBAR that was. Sounded to me that Davey started off his solo early, then Adrian usually takes the second solo but didn't; Janick does instead, again early but this time a whole section. At that point the song fell apart before they got it back together...
They opened at Irvine Meadows on the "A Matter Of Life And Death" show. I hadn't heard of them but was really entertained and enjoyed a chat with the guitarist during the set changeover. He told me Maiden & their people all treated them very well, which was nice to hear.
