    18th Studio Album discussion

You know that's kinda funny, since that song's pace has always slightly bothered me. It feels oddly rigid compared to just about every other song on the album, especially the post-solo section chorus which has a super weird feel. Never thought enough of it to look the documentary or any...

Yeah, and it's not like Nicko's going to be in any better shape years down the line after taking an extended break from touring which seemed to be what caused his noticeable downward trend in 2024 in the first place. Not to mention sheer age. If they record a new album, I personally don't...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

Janick having a co-write in the set was absolutely not in consideration when choosing the setlist for LotB, why on Earth would it be now?

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

No wonder Bruce's been so enthusiastic about their new drummer. He must've seen this coming a mile away.

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

I'd bet a decent sum of money on the poster only saying that because unlike many previous tours, this time they've pretty explicitly locked two years' worth of touring in well ahead of time, with a wait-and-see approach for 2027 since the band's not getting any younger. If nothing stops them...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

No, he kinda did. Check the interview. The only time they played together was a single run through of the Future Past set, which as you might have noticed, like I said, features exactly two songs Clive originally recorded out of a set of 15. You're jumping to argue something that neither Bruce...

Bruce also does. That's how we got the intro to IESF for example. (okay, to be fair it wasn't meant for Maiden use in the first place, but it was too good of an opportunity to pass up commenting on the second time they slapped a fucking rough take demo on an album, as the very intro even)

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

I thought the Clive Burr comment is a little funny since it's in the context of Dawson playing a setlist that's comprised almost entirely of Nicko era songs, and I absolutely don't trust Bruce's judgment as a singer to be enough to make that kind of claims about material Clive never played on...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

I can't believe I'm seriously entertaining this, but BQOBD as an opener would fit in the sense that it'd be something different. Aces High got reused once more for LotB, but they spiced it up with the plane and followed it with WED which almost felt like a double opener in a way. TFP could've...

    50th Anniversary Documentary Announcement

It's all well and good, I'm pretty sure half of my impression is from Halfin himself admitting he can be a bit difficult sometimes. It's understandable in the sense that he's a professional doing a job and doesn't have time for bands being cute and fucking around, but at the same time he tends...

    50th Anniversary Documentary Announcement

Mysteriously he also had his bridges burned with Metallica for whatever reason, although they later reconciled. I've gotten the impression he's really not the easiest guy to get along with over the years.

    50th Anniversary Documentary Announcement

I think if Maiden was really keen on the US market, they probably would've done what Metallica did ages ago, i.e. forgo the backdrops and go for an in-the-round stage setup instead. It's a proven formula and it scales up nicely while letting more people be on the front row and get up close and...

    Maiden on the radio

I like how somehow it turned into a tradition that I'm now exclusively listening to Empire of the Clouds whenever it's on the radio on Good Friday. Kinda funny how the station basically just turns into Maiden power hour, they're by far the most represented band today, followed by Metallica at a...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

I always thought Bruce's whole attitude over it was kind of funny, considering Dio apparently used to smoke half a joint to relax his vocal cords before shows and Bruce is of course a bit of a fan of his.

    Bruce Dickinson

I'd liken it more to calling VXI Maiden's magnum opus, personally.

    The Future Past Tour 2024

Screw the rockstar touring the world, playing to crowds of thousands bullshit, this is the real dream you want to achieve. Work for a few months a year, make so much money you can just spend the remainder at the pub.

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

LotB was always intended to last for three years and they're obviously in no hurry to get back in the studio any time soon, if ever. If nothing cataclysmic happens and nobody calls it quits (and honestly, possibly even if another one of them does, depending on who it is) I could totally see them...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

For all the comments I've made, we're still talking about a band that joined Power Trip to play for a ridiculous sum for a very particular crowd, and made absolutely no changes to their setlist which was entirely built around the most dedicated hardcore fans and skipped out on nearly every...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

Opinions about quality of output are one thing, but objectively Metallica sells out far bigger venues even in Europe and the UK than Maiden does. That isn't up for debate. The gap isn't as wide as it is over in America, but it's still there.

TREASURE ISLAND - New Maiden Album (June 6)

It's not the intent and yet, somehow, every single year without fail somebody either falls for it or complains about it for some reason. Which incidentally suggests they did indeed fall for it and wanted to save face by pretending the reason they're complaining is because it wasn't funny.
