The quote above pretty much sums up my opinion on the album as well! I've listened it a couple of times now and I've really enjoyed it. It's certainly not as cohesive as the previous four or three albums, but at the same time I really like the different arrangemental ideas on it and frankly...

Same, got my vinyl today! Resurrection Men just ended and frankly, I liked it. It's got some great things and some less so, but I'd expect it to be rather good live track! Currently at Fingers in the Wounds; really liking it! I don't expect this album to be among my favourites or anything...

    The Future Past Tour 2024

Does it, though? Like... I think a third leg of the Future Past tour certainly seems most likely, but technically they could pull of a Future Past or Legacy 2022 kind of a "hybrid" card for a new album tour as well. The Final Frontier & The Book of Souls tours also had big stadium shows in...

Some very intriguing views on the album in this thread. Both the praise and the more negative views; frankly, it makes the wait all the more intriguing and it'll be very interesting to hear what kind of a personal impact the album will have on me. I guess that certain songs will appeal to me a...

I'll be just waiting for my vinyl copy to arrive. I try not to hear any leaked clips until then. I'm still excited!

Funny enough, I thought Rain on the Graves had a bit more Bruce flavour in it; maybe not the composition, as Afterglow is certainly very typical Roy Z/Dickinson track to begin with, but lyrically and e.g the chorus, I got a bit stronger "Yeah it's Bruce Dickinson all over!" from Rain on the...

When I were a lad... I could lift up five navies on an end of a shovel The reason I never took up martial arts is because I'm immensely fearsome But I'll probably kill everybody that I came into contact with it! I was phenomenally strong! Pride and ego, my lads, pride and egoi s what makes the...

    The Future Past Tour 2024

I believe that is the reason indeed! Even from a songwriting perspective, Bruce of 1999 is somewhat different vocalist from the early 90's Bruce with bit of a different technique and new possibilities.

Not saying that (assumably) Bruce is the easiest person to work with (or for), but... We know Roy Z isn't so much into touring . He's had those... potentially drunk ramblings on Facebook every now and then and, correct me if I'm wrong, hasn't been that much out there, like performing publicly...

How much touring Roy has been usually doing anyway over the past ten years or so..? I wonder if there's some health or other such factors in the play and for reason or another, three months on the road just seemed like something he can't commit at this point. Weird enough, given that the tour...

Reading this thread, I feel almost guilty for being positively curious and excited for all the experimental elements and also liking Rain on the Graves as much as I certainly do. :p Seriously though, I'm certainly on board with people who are having some doubts on Sonata and such and I'm not...

Steve: "I've thought about doing another song about World War II pilots, you know, dogfights and stuff." Bruce: "Ahh yeah, you know, I've got this song, it's called Silver Wings... I've thought about including it to my upcoming Best Of, but..." Steve: "Let's heart it, then! 5 minutes later...

He does indeed! En Vivo! has some amazing performances and it's a great live release altogether. However, 2011 also saw a good handful of a LOT rougher nights for Bruce, particularly towards the end of the tour. E.g their stint here in Nordic countries and the UK shows. Given how amazing and...

...was one of Bruce's weakest altogether from the past 25 years. :p He did indeed have some rather outstanding nights on the first (Ed-Force 1) leg, but TFF 2011 was one of his less-consistent tours since 1993, I dare say. But yeah, those peak performances are pretty awesome! I agree with most...

I really like Skunkworks cover, as it really fits the album and it's soundscape and has a nice, fresh feel to it! Nothing absolutely legendary, but as mentioned, quite nice indeed. As for Tyranny of Souls, it's a part of a very classic painting (a bit like The Chemical Wedding) so I think any...

People were asking for more variation with the lyrics in the chorus due to repetition, so how about changing at least one letter? (Sorry I'm late to the meme party and showing really bad taste now)

It appears that I'm also in the minority(?) that really likes the new single! It's not a mind-blowingly amazing song or anything like that in my book, but I found it very enjoyable and intriguing on it's own right. Afterglow of Ragnarok was a nice one too, but somehow I might even prefer this...

Based on the title and the fact that Steve was interested on it? I mean, a lot of people expected something completely different from Rain on the Graves as well, based on the interviews and sheer title of the track (which is very cool indeed). For all we know, Nightmares may, or may not be...

I like it. Not mind-blowing, but I like it. The video was cheesy, but mostly in a sympathetic way. Very much in the vein of The Tower and Killing Floor videos, so I think it was honestly pretty alright, as far as music videos in general go. When the third verse begun I couldn't help but smile...

But there is a... well, creature/warrior with an... axe in the cover, isn't there. :p
