    Nicko McBrain retires

I think people are reading a bit too much into the "2025" (only) mention regarding the Simon Dawnson announcement. I think it is, as @Kalata suggested above, due to only 2025 tour dates being announced so far and kind of calming the situation for the already set & published tour dates. The 2026...

The original walk-on Wickerman Eddie, 2000

Given how most walk-on & big Eddies betweeen 1998-2005 turned out, I'm kind of glad they didn't... :D

Name your favourite track from each Maiden album

Nice to see this one getting some love! It's probably not my absolute favourite track on The Book of Souls, but I very much like the vibe of it. Granted, I think a more dynamic/airy/crisp/whatever kind of mix and production would've benefited it, as I think the chorus (which I think is a damn...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

That is, to my understanding, exactly the case. Other streaming services seem to be very eager to include it to such playlists as well.

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

I would argue that Wasting Love, with massive streaming numbers, as a single and a music video is not much of a deep cut if we're being strict, but fair enough, it's not exactly 2 Minutes to Midnight etc. tier when it comes to general familiarity. But yeah, we'll see!

    Ion Maiden tribute act

They're certainly super skilled & capable of pulling off very impressive renditions of the songs! I have bit of a mixed feelings about the stage show and dressing up like Maiden guys and all; as far as tribute bands go, I tend to prefer more imaginative ways of doing it, where as The Beast...

Put your initial thought after your first listen to the Senjutsu album to one sentence please.

I actually like it too! I'm quite fond of the chorus and the overall vibe of the song, despite the lyrics being a bit... ehh... well it's not one of Bruce's best texts. I think the chorus works fairly well anyway. While I like the song and its somewhat solo-Brucey vibe and his singing there, it...

Put your initial thought after your first listen to the Senjutsu album to one sentence please.

Hell on Earth, as a closing track, was very impactful. It probably made, and maybe still makes, the album seem a bit smoother ride than it actually is, which honestly underlines its brilliance as a closing track! So uhm. Initial thought after the first listen, in one sentence... I remember it...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

My thoughts exactly. I assumed Remember Tomorrow having been one of the "on the table" options on Bruce's (+others') mind for next tour ever since RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025-26 went into planning stage, but probably not among the ~three first contenders for that kind of a song. I don't think Paul's...

Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

Nice! I think this show/video bootleg has been in YouTube for ages, but this particular upload of it seems to be higher quality than the ones I've seen before.

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

They will play Alexander the Great in Greece if Alexander the Great is in the RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! setlist 2025-26 and they're doing a show in Greece in 2026. :D I remain extremely doubtful that they'd do a random one-off performance of it. So Run to the Hills confirmed!!! ...ah. Speaking...

    The Future Past Tour 2024

It's not my favourite either, although I think it works just fine live. You're probably right when it comes to general vibe and energy in the crowd, but personally, I rocked out for Days of Future Past. I loved its energy right after more groovy tunes that Stranger & Writing were! I get that...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

I slightly disagree. As others have pointed out, it might very well be down to the amount of lyrics, the structure of the song, singing-technical stuff like the room for expression etc. If Somewhere in Time revisit was done on another tour and Senjutsu had more spotlight on it's totally "own"...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

I certainly hope so! A shame if after all those decades it was only brought back for a one tour, albeit an extensive one. Out of all the big classic singles & hits of the 1982-1984 era, I think Icarus is among the ones they can do most justice now and make it sound absolutely majestic. It's not...

The better 1990s album with Bruce: FOTD vs NPFTD

Tough one for me. I agree with many here about Fear of the Dark possibly having higher highs and I could argue that its highlights and, weak as they might be, some songs with more experimental have a lot more character than most of the No Prayer for Dying material. However, No Prayer for the...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

Yeah the popular imagery & title of Fear of the Dark album might very well be a factor here. The song is also featured on a handful of compilations, so there's that too.

    Bruce Dickinson

Ended up checking a few clips from Bruce's show in Helsinki this June. Hands down one of the best gigs I've seen. And for once, the Finnish crowd was rather lively! I'm very happy that basically the whole venue joined to the olé-olé-olé-ole-Bruceeee chant that everybody knew from Scream for Me...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

If Wrathchild returns to the set next year and will be played for the whole 2025-26 run, it'll be its first full world tour since Metal 2000/Brave New World tour. :D ...unless we count A Matter of the Beast as a separate tour from AMOLAD, but even so, it's been a while! I'm rather glad that it...
