    Mother of Mercy

I listened TFF this morning and I think that this is my favourite song of the album: no long boring parts, great vocals, powerfull riff and a direct song. 8/10.

Five years later: The Final Frontier revisited

It is probably one the best Heavy Metal album ever composed, that's why.

What's your favourite post-reunion album and why?

I like much more the drumming and the guitar work on BNW, but I agree with the fact the all the songs of DoD sounds very "guitarish".

What's your favourite post-reunion album and why?

I do not explain this to myself. :D DoD is not my favourite, but is way much better that TFF, IMO.

"The Book of Souls" - Official pre-release thread (CONTAINS ALBUM SPOILERS)

I am starting to think this way too. They have decided for a big whole release in September. Big wait --> hype --> sales -->charts. 5 years from their last album, so they want something special for this one. They want to be different from the others, they can and this is why we love them.

Thanks a lot. I really enjoyed it. The part about songwriting and the ideas of the band is very strong stuff.

    Lord of Light

I agree, but potentially IMO this could have been the best song of the album. Riffs and melodies are great and powerful. But the chours is "damped" by the slowing down. That breaking just before the chours is very unpleasant.

    These Colours Don't Run

I gave it a solid 8. The opening is very emphatizing, if you close your eyes and think about the ships in Normandy beach the atmosphere is awesome. The only part that leaves me with a little disappointment is the bridgem too slow and repetitive, IMO a better change of tempo is needed.

'Remastered for iTunes' - All albums re-released! Discuss.

I hope not, on the contrary I think that the upcoming release is the reason why TFF is been taken out.

For the Greater Good of God

I agree but I think that this is their last song that I wuold apply this. Before cutting out from FTGGOG, i would personally intervene on "The longest Day", "Lord of Light" and "The Legacy". Without mentioning the whole "The Final Frontier" album.

    Brighter Than A Thousand Suns

Absolutely 10. In my opinion, their best song since 1988. Great structure, heavy riff, great change of tempo, lyrics and vocals on top, exciting solos and "holy father we have sinned" is the definitive closure.
