    Battle of the unsingable choruses

We can say that about the album as a whole (like TMP), right. It's very strange, Bruce was brutal live during this period. Btw, he also writes such high choruses for his songs. Maiden by numbers is perfect to describe it. Btw, the ''studio magic'' chorus of Greater Good, the latter part of it...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

It sounds almost the same to me the way he sings it. Maybe it's a bit lower/with rougher voice now.

    Favourite Iron Maiden Epic (1980-1992)

I don't think I would classify some as epics, but from the list - it's either Powerslave, Rime or Hallowed. Ofc Fear and Alexander. How to choose...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

Thisx2. Also, we wouldn't have been that ''disappointed'' with the ''standard setlist'' (a true and epic Maiden celebration) if it weren't for the previous 3 adventurous tours. Play 3-5 even deeper cuts in the next album tour or do a Reunion era tour and everything will be cool. :) They want to...

    Bruce Dickinson

Another teaser. I can't find new things on first listen, maybe some layer of vocals? I doubt Bruce would touch his original vocals. New sounds, I guess? Some keys, rhythm guitar. The song has a lot of sounds and with the new mix they're not clear enough, unfortunately. Also, is it just me or the...

    Senjutsu

Yes unfortunately. A few songs on the album (including the title track) would sound crushing with clean modern production or Bruce's new one for BTP. The original production is fitting for the album, I like it and it sounds good for modern Maiden, but a heavier one would have been too methinks...

    Senjutsu

This is the price the song has to pay for its uniqueness. I guess they could have sped up the outro part, but despite the tempo and the unusual vocals, I don't find it boring. The vibe is presented perfectly, there is a build-up. I totally understand you though, but I think the whole song is a...

    Battle of the unsingable choruses

Good question. I enjoy both songs. Mother Of Mercy's chorus is not sung good at all by Bruce (one of his ''bad'' studio takes, iirc he wanted to change the chorus, rightfully so), while Lightning Strikes Twice's chorus could have been with backing vocals. Both ideas work for the songs though...

Maidenfans Best Albums of the Millenium: 2001

I would have definitely voted for Edguy's Mandrake (I could have nominated it) and Saxon's Killing Ground/Grave Digger - The Grave Digger - if it were in the list.

    SSOASS Vs. AMOLAD

Wouldn't you call Greater Good, Suns, Different World, Longest Day and even Colours and Shadows such? I will.

Maidenfans Best Albums of the Millenium: 2001

2001 has some interesting albums. My votes: No World Order - I really like Gamma Ray and this album is classic power metal. I also think it's underrated. Karma - Kamelot's music is specific but impactful and this whole album brings so much emotion. Quality stuff, symphonic metal! Silence - I'm...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

This. The special stuff from this tour are: the stage set, the first opening songs are memorable and having 3 80's epics in one set. Yeah. I'm not sure which song to call a centerpiece of the tour, since both Rime and Seventh Son are. If only they played another one like Infinite. Maybe the...

Poll: The strongest 90s Maiden album

NPFTD is the weakest for me, FOTD has more than half great songs but also some fillers, TXF is probably the most consistent with not bad songs - but VXI is my favorite. Yes, there is repetition, some choruses are bit odd, but I genuinely think there are no weak songs (as such) among the 8 songs...

Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

Sense of continuity with empty backgrounds... wow. Whoever the artist is, I think they'll go with the same approach as the last 2 covers, unfortunately. Yeah, cool, but just the poses. I like the originals, but I love their inner sleeve artworks! Some of Maiden's best and a favorites of mine...

Was the album "Brave New World" like "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" part II?

I wouldn't say that. We can or not compare it with his TCW vocals: Moonchild, Madness, Seventh Son, Prophecy, Navigator (pre-chorus), Blood Brothers, Thin Line. The singing and high vocals are superb on both albums. Plenty of special vocals.

No Prayer For The Dying Vs. The Final Frontier

Daughter, Tailgunner, the title track(!), Run Silent and Fates Warning. And I don't want to lose the instrumentals of 3 of the other 5 songs (same with Weekend Warrior, Apparition, Chains and Key from the next album), plus I enjoy Assassin and even Holy Smoke. They just should have spend more...

Fear Of The Dark Vs. The Book Of Souls

What an album would be! Same if we combine the first 2 90's albums, imo. I can imagine a song like Tears Of A Clown on FOTD. FOTD with: Be Quick From Here To Eternity (the catchy single) Afraid Childhood's End Wasting Love Judas Be My Guide Fear Of The Dark then add: Fear Is The Key(because...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

Another trip back to the 80's. Not for Powerslave, surprisngly. It's kind of odd to see Dave with an LP for Fear. Wasted Years is probably the song for which he used the most different guitars on live.

Fear Of The Dark Vs. The Book Of Souls

It can feel overstuffed because of the few really long songs and the 3 slower songs to end the album, but I don't have an issue with that. Same with FOTD. The shorter songs are enough, better balance than SJ. Ofc one more would have been good, like for SJ. Book, Red And Black, Empire and...

    SSOASS Vs. AMOLAD

Now this is a really tough choice. Both are masterpieces/like perfect albums with no weak songs! A small detail should make the difference - and that is The Prophecy (I appreciate its uniqueness). Come to think of it, both albums are like a perfect and classic representations of their style and...
