Poll: 2 Minutes to Midnight vs. The Wicker Man?

Both are classics and anthems with great riffs, choruses, tempo, verses and solos. My answer would be both, it's close, but I just love Wicker Man. What an impact.

Yeah, and I guess that was a joke, Nicko likes long songs. It was funny him saying that Steve's songs usually have too many solos, 12 minutes worth... btw, he was generally making comments about the drum kits, feel and tempo, unintentionally or not. Steve and I guess Bruce didn't want to make...

Which is your preferred Maiden era: 1980-1993 vs. 1995-present

As much as I love the fantastic, timeless, classic 80's material and FOTD - I like the Reunion era even more. Plus the Blaze albums. I think it's magical. Maiden's whole career ofc. Both periods are amazing.

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

The obvious choice would be Clairvoyant, since they skipped Evil That Men Do, but the show would be longer. I thought Boots had a good chance (Infinite too), but I guess playing more POM songs during Legacy had it's impact to say. Don't forget a NPFTD song too. ;) Awesome. Btw, isn't the stage...

Nicko about Simon: Well, I've known Simon for a number of years. He actually was a British Drum Company endorsee for a bit. I got him his deal, actually, probably six, seven years back. And we were hanging out. Now obviously Steve took BRITISH LION on tour with him on 'The Future Past Tour'...

    Nicko McBrain

It seems that's also one of the reasons: https://blabbermouth.net/news/nicko-mcbrain-says-iron-maidens-new-drummer-simon-dawson-is-doing-a-fantastic-job I'm not complaining about that at all. It was an incredible journey, one that if the good Lord said, 'Would you do it all again?', 'yes'...

    18th Studio Album discussion

If Nicko plays on a few songs (2-3 at most, I guess; it would be so weird), I'd like him to write a song (or use the one from the SJ sessions if it's good). That would be nice, cool and perfect.

^Most likely. The quote about everyone's gotten so old is more of an odd one. What to say bands like Priest, Saxon, Purple? And tbh, him not even sure if he'd potentially play on another album is not what I understand by ''he's still part of the band''. What would their future be, just Hits...

A better representation for 50 years, that's for sure. This. It feels like that, yeah. I think he could do the encore songs. It was great to hear such drumming on Moonchild, but you can see why he retired from live playing. Iirc, Bruce has a solo show in Florida. I think so too. The songs...

What's the worst Maiden song where the songwriting credit only has (Harris)?

Steve rarely misses with his solo credits. But I voted for Invaders - and yes, for the chorus. You can argue about Assassin's chorus (even Fortunes Of War) and Angel And The Gambler's repetition, but the songs have other redeeming ideas (plus we have the short version of the latter as a...

    18th Studio Album discussion

I also think it's about a new album, that's like their usual way of hint talking, although it would be a bit odd if it isn't recorded yet (unless they change their ways of recording a bit, they write stuff all the time). I guess they decided to do it (planning stages) as the next logical step in...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

From a new interview with Nicko - discussing whether he would play with the band if they play in Florida: "Yeah, if they come here, I might end up doing a show with them, you know, just going and playing a song or two. Or just being there''. :)

Bruce loves to tease as we know, so we have to keep that in mind, but it can't about the dates for the 2nd leg - he covered it with the first spoiler alert joke. It's either about an upcoming live release from the tour (London was during the day, so I doubt it), or more likely about a new album...

    Nicko McBrain

Lovely to see Nicko in action. With TFP tour drum kit. His power and overall drumming isn't the same, but it still sounds more than good (impressive really) for his age and the unique groove is always there! Especially a song like Rime. Great to hear the fills and the foot work. He's maintained...

    Judas Priest

A pro-shot from this unique tour for the band (the 2 albums go together just perfect)! Yes, especially since the band isn't releasing anything, except the new songs and the two old classics from last year, which was awesome. 3-4 songs are missing, but the band sounds great. Big kudos Rob, he's...

This is one of the coolest event shirts for the tour. Eddie, the phantom, the setting.... if only it had been drawn by Akirant for the tour layout, it would have been better.

    Battle of the unsingable choruses

The album was rushed like No Prayer, but the musical ideas are strong and more interesting for me. It's really curious why they decided to release again an album with 8 songs since the 80's. The ideas and written material weren't a few for sure, they had a whole year free. Like for the previous...

    Bruce Dickinson

Yeah. But they will release it, it's done probably with Roy and iirc Bruce said it's the next one to be released. It seems TMP producer/mixer is Bruce's go-to guy for productions. And not only: recently a band called Combustion 96 (Philip writes and plays for it) was announced as an opening band...

No Prayer For The Dying Vs. The Final Frontier

I understand what you mean, but let's not forget the awesome title track. One of Maiden's gems and classic sounding 90's songs. It would be great as an encore live (like Blood Brothers), just saying. I consider it a unique song in the band's discography.
