Poll: Which style of Judas Priest do you prefer?

An appropriate look at their discography and styles. I prefer ''metal Priest'' the most, so option #4 should be the pick, but I'm not a fan of Jugulator (no melodic approach at all), although I really like the heavy sound and riffs. If it was Painkiller-Firepower-Invincible Shield, it would...

Poll: Dance of Death vs. Hell on Earth?

If I have to pick one, I think they could have removed and definitely shortened the outro. Almost 2 minutes long, the intro is over 2 minutes! Maybe Steve didn't want to make the song any longer, especially with the other long epics on the album, and that's why the chorus isn't repeated. Idk.

Poll: Dance of Death vs. Hell on Earth?

Now this is a really tough choice. Both songs are some of Maiden's very best and are classics. Top 10 material. Essential Maiden. Interestingly, I really wished Hell On Earth's chorus had been repeated at least 2 times more, while Dance Of Death doesn't even need a proper chorus. Beautiful and...

Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

Don't take Akirant's fun event shirts for example, check out his SJ related artworks and tour posters. One of Maiden's best artists for me. Wilkinson, a fantastic an iconic Maiden artist, has said he won't be working with Maiden anymore and may have retired, unfortunately. Derek, I highly doubt...

Name your fave three songs from the reunion era yet

If the chorus had been repeated, it would have been like the ultimate Maiden song for me. I still can't believe it. Let's hope a potential next album won't have such features. It's great to see many different lists for the most part in this thread, it shows the quality of the Reunion era. I...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

Dave Sullivan! Nice to see him again. He didn't expect the band to be this big now. The sound is better on a pro-shot ofc, but is it just me or the cymbals mix is really low even on that? And will Maiden release one live song, like from every tour, or will they save ''the surprise'' for the...

    Album Cover Art Cup

It was about time for such a game. :) Why only 5 though? There are so many amazing album arts. I have to think about this for a long time. I would love to participate in a Maiden one.

Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

And we have a new art spawned from the tour. Nice. I think it's possible they could use Akirant for a potential new album. It's a rather interesting art and it definitely has an old school feel to it, but it could have been much more detailed and impressive. He says he's a big fan of the band...

The best run of 3 Maiden albums from the 80's?

Any of the latter 3 really. Let's say: Powerslave - SIT - SSOASS.

Poll: The weakest 80's Maiden album?

I think it's just the style of the songs, but Murders and Genghis Khan have no proper solos (the intro of the album has), while songs like Another Life(!) and Purgatory have really short solos. If I have to compare the debut and it: There is no song like Phantom, a league of its own. Remember...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

True that, and I suppose there was a reason Hills was used as an encore song in the 80's (probably because the chorus has words), but Trooper's melody and single cover are some of the most iconic in metal. During the 90's they become equal, I guess. Speaking of the song, I'm not enjoying the...

Poll: The weakest 80's Maiden album?

Every 80's album is at least 8/10, so weakest is wild to say - but I think Killers overall material can't be compared with the standouts from the rest, although it's a unique album and Wrathchild and the title track are classics. Also, no real epic. According to the band, they used the weaker...

Adrian, Janick and Dave's guitars and Steve's basses

I kind of like how it looks. I like the black Strat better not with the original pickguard. This. It will become Dave's main guitar again?

    NOW PLAYING

New single from Dirkschneider & The Old Gang - Strangers In Paradise. The album will be released in October, but so far they almost release it all with singles! I guess it's a decent ballad with beautiful verses and cool double electric and acoustic solo from Mathias.

Name your fave three songs from the reunion era yet

It's impossible, but: 1.The Wicker Man 2.Out Of The Silent Planet 3.Hell On Earth A symbol of the Reunion, one of my favorite choruses, and one of the most emotional songs with golden melodies/chorus. Rainmaker is up there too.

Maiden or Maiden-related physical media wish list

Your comment reminded of this good interview with Janick from 1998, in which he said they have wrote a lot of material for the VXI album, but only chose 8 songs. We know the BNW songs, I'm curious to know or hear some of the others. Maybe someday. Btw, his favorite songs from the album to play...

Adrian, Janick and Dave's guitars and Steve's basses

I will always associate this guitar with Trooper (the red Ibanez too). Or TCW era. I wonder if Adrian would have used these guitars if he was on tour with Bruce. Jackson KV? Or no, like with SK. Let's hope the book will have interesting stories along with the guitars photos. I really want to...

Bruce during Killers with a bit of his 1982 voice for one tiny moment of the song (4:20)... just wow! :notworthy: This is just a great live song, why it's been forgotten since 1999, I have no idea. Btw, all of his screams for it over the years, without in 1988, are strong. 1982 are brutal.

Maidenfans Best Albums of the Millenium: 2000

Ok, let's get started. An easy round for the 2000 albums: Brave New World - my favorite Maiden album. Resurrection - Halford pure metal is very strong and very solid. Rob's vocals and the heavier approach are the real deal. Great! A worthy follow-up to Painkiller, so. Only 2 weak songs...
