If I ride my SRX Cadillac with my girlfriend and we take turn at choosing the songs we listen to, then I ll throw in Empire of the Clouds to piss her off:p
My bet is on the song Book of Souls by Janick. The mayan theme sounds cool and the song should have a specific groove.
Then, the 18 minutes song by Bruce.
Come on ! Please the fans who want short rockers ? With their status, they will only do what they really want. I dont think they ll come back to the short rockers anytime soon.
What is funny is that for me, the most cinematic songs are Rime and Where eagles dare, and those songs dont need much orchestration to be cinematic, I just close my eyes listening to those two songs and a movie starts playing in my mind
Now that Iron Maiden have pushed the progressive stuff and now opened the door to orchestral stuff, I think that maybe their path will be like Blind Guardian, going more and more toward an orchestral direction. It opens a new dimension to what can be expected for the albums following TBOS.
Blind guardian have choruses with like 20 channels of backing vocals and layers over layers of stuff, kind of overproduced. But yes, you mean something like And then there was silence ?
Sorry, I was first on Songsterr to prove my point, but now I am back home and got my official book, it goes from 160 the intro to 252 for the rest. So you were right !
The trooper is 160 bpm like Aces high.
Depending on how many notes are played in a measure, it can seems faster. But if we go by the book, it is 160 bpm.
