I only ever see Maiden once a tour. I wish I could afford to go more times, but I went from being a student to being a teacher. Not exactly a recipie for fortune. I am happy to say this will be the 10th tour and show!

It’s either got to be the difficulty of singing Infinite Dreams or how it fit into the flow of the set list. I mean they have dropped deep cuts before because of the ‘flow’. Stranger in a Stranger Land in 1999, Charlotte in 2005, Thousand Suns in 2010 are the ones that come to mind.
I would...
I’m going with 3 of my mates, two of which have never seen a Maiden show akin to a ‘greatest hits’ gig and the other has never been to a Maiden gig at all. As much as I will cherish what will most likely be one of the last Maiden gigs I ever attend, I’m more excited to see their responses to...
Has Adrian ever said on record why he loves a simple approach with his rig? Compared to some touring rigs, his is refreshingly simple!
I’m a bass player and I operate on the premise of having as few cables between you and the front of house as possible. I don’t even keep my tuner in my direct...
The only thing I have never understood is their strategy for touring the USA between 1999 and 2012. Here are some of my thoughts.
1999-2003. I think they did a good job here. 2 hits tours and a new album tour to solidify their position after the reunion.
2004. A very short tour. I get that it...
Dance of Death is my favourite Maiden album. Is it their greatest album? Not a chance. That title goes to 7th Son. However I love the variety on the album. There are so many good riffs and Melodie’s throughout the album. I think it is their most varied album since 2000.
It was also the first...
Since I am out of action for a few days, I thought I would post my set list for the 2010 Final Frontier tour. I am still gutted I missed the original tour and love the original setlist. However I wanted to take a go at doing my own. Here are some of the conditions.
Keep El Dorado in

Well scrap that. My back injury has gotten worse and I have had to take diazepam this morning to help with the pain. That stops me driving and public transport is no use cross country.
That’s the 3rd Blaze gig I have missed due to either illness or weather. That sucks but life goes on.
The instrumental of this version is one of my favourite Maiden comments captured on full . Bruce running around, Nicki and Steve holding the fort down and the 3 Amigos goofing around.
I like to see that Adrian uses affordable pedals in his setup. I think it conveys a message to aspiring players that you don’t need custom, boutique and vintage gear to sound great.
