Well, Fear of the Dark some kind of half-assed attempt at a Black Album in terms of "going more mainstream". The difference is that the guys in Metallica did listen to the producer. ;)

Pretty much my exact opinion on the album: some (very) good ideas, but lazily executed. In this case, and contrary to the popular saying: more is less.

Writing "Iron Maiden releases 'new' song" would have done the trick all the same. ;)

I've followed pretty much the same concept (cf here) but I've been less optimistic as regards the length of the set. I hope I'm wrong! ;)
