Paschendale was dropped for Dance of Death, right? No problem with that, as DoD is a better song and goes over better live. Was great to get them both on the 2003 tour, but if I had to choose one, it's DoD. That was probably the highlight of the 2011 tour to me, along with WtWWB.
Setlist complainers... You'll be lost, and you'll be sorry when they're gone. I'm grateful for every opportunity I've had to see Maiden live. Every time can be the last one now.
Just enjoy The Trooper, The Number of the Beast, Iron Maiden, and Fear of the Dark while you still can. Steve wants...
I'm not complaining about anything, nor am I projecting anything. I have just observed on here and on other forums several people upset about the political content of the song's (Age of Innocence) lyrics. That's just a fact. Otherwise the song is musically inoffensive. Not great, not horrible...
It has meaning everywhere. Perhaps there are different names for the eternal divide between traditionalists and social justice reformers. In any case, I am correct in essence about why people criticize the song. I've seen those criticisms here plenty of times.
I'll also add that Maiden should...
The hate for the song is only from liberals who are offended at the song's lyrics. Of course it's not a bad song at all.
Bring Your Daughter is not a bad song. It's just a bit silly for Maiden. It seems like it must have been a lot of fun to hear it live.
Maiden's worst songs are all found...
I think Dance of Death and The Final Frontier sound good from a production standpoint. AMoLaD and TBoS, on the other hand, are way too "muddy" sounding for me. But yeah, none of the reunion albums have that 80s polish. I just accept it for what it is. Can't change it.
The reunion era live...
Current line-up is the classic one. Twenty-first century Maiden is the best Maiden thanks to the combination of great new albums and album tours plus amazing history tours. They're more popular and beloved now than they ever were. This is classic Maiden.
If the 80s were their only glory days...
There's not going to be a 90s tour. Steve better send the band with wrath on a new album tour, because he knows the time is short. Let him who hath understanding reckon the number of new album tours left. The number is one.
A few weeks ago I made some unflattering remarks about the latest version of King Crimson on a prog rock forum, and Robert Fripp copied and posted 4 of my posts on his Facebook page to hold me up to public ridicule. I was stunned. I never imagined people like him paid attention to the ramblings...
I love the DVDs with the Latin American crowds. They're so enthusiastic. The band seems to feed off it, and the performances are so energetic. A lot of North American fans are too cool to show so much emotion at Maiden shows.
Bruce's live version of SotC is way, WAY better. Same with The Clansman. Bruce is just such a superior singer to Blaze in every way. He makes those songs come alive. Blaze just is.. wrong for any Maiden song.
