Does anyone have a theory as to why Iron Maiden aren't exploiting their back catalogue with re-releases, boxsets, live shows from the archives, outtakes etc like we are seeing with so many artists?

I fear that's a case of wishful thinking - I don't think he said enough to really give anything away. Don't get me wrong, I'd much prefer a Senjutsu tour, but...

I don't remember him saying anything to indicate it would be a different tour. He made a one liner about hopefully being about to do the sold-out European tour next summer (in the context of covid).
Not sure if this is a joke or not, but 'muddy' is often used to describe how music sounds. I think it comes from the idea of hearing the music through mud, rather than the noise mud itself makes.
