Caught the Chicago show! Of course, when I bought the general admission tickets, I didn't realize I was going to get a hernia and would need surgery to fix it. Shit happens, I guess. The surgery was a week ago, and I was in a good amount of pain, but I held my ground. I stayed against the...
Bruce seemed pretty adamant that "The Number of the Beast" was going to get an extended break during the media blitz back in September, so I wouldn't be surprised if that one was only featured in China.
I might be able to go to the second Los Angeles show, but I won't know until my friend can get the okay. He won't know until January, and I'm hoping tickets won't be sold out by then. If they are, my question for you guys is this: since this is a paperless event, is it still possible for me to...
Hopefully, this rumor is true, as long as Bruce isn't pushing himself too early. The biggest positive of Maiden coming to North America in the winter is that the summer sheds won't be in use. The sound in arenas is far superior, plus there's way more room for general admission.
There've been a few reviews now that have said some interesting things about "Tear of a Clown." I'm not sure if the title was putting me off or what, but I hadn't been thinking about that one as much as the others. It seems that everyone is surprised it's not a ballad.

Yeah, that's what stuck out to me as well. If anything, maybe that overabundance of material means we might get another album sooner than we'd imagine.
But let's hear The Book of Souls first, and get to that stuff later. :p
I think people hoping for "An evening with..." setlist are forgetting that this tour will be Bruce's first since the cancer treatments. Bruce testing his vocals to such a capacity so soon sounds like a dangerous idea. For the benefit of future tours, I really don't think Bruce should be doing...
Getting a good grasp on those 20-odd seconds of "Speed of Light" is obviously difficult, but it sounds like a rock-influenced track. "Different World" and "The Final Frontier" both had Thin Lizzy vibes, so it's not out of the realm of possibility that "Speed of Light" could continue that trend.
