    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

I personally quite like it. Of course the entire artwork seems very promising cannot wait for the album released to check out the little booklet. It is similar to vintage samurai photos from like 100 years ago or even more. That's why there is no other background and I think it's way better than...

"Can you mix this tape for me?" "Surely, you can't be serious!" "I am serious, and don't call me Shirley!" :)

    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

Red and the Black has a very cool mid instrumental section preceded by a couple of totally unnecessary and average solos which could have been simply cut. I like the melody line, but Bruce is struggling sometimes. So all in all, it's the same old problem, good ideas, nice sections but a couple...

    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

Empire of the Clouds to me is an average song, which could have been really great. The lyrics are amazing, the storytelling starts off very well, then the instrumental section which is way too long, simply forgets to lift the piece and goes nowhere. It's a failed attempt at trying to be proggy...

    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

I tend to agree somewhat. There was a debate here about what if recent long or epic songs appeared on earlier albums, would they be classified as classics? Take Seventh Son, the song, would you cut a second of it? Not a chance! Take Phantom of the Opera, would you cut a second of it? Not me. Or...

    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

Steve never revisits their old sound and songwriting again. I remember reading in the No Prayer interviews back in the days (I am that old :)) that they are never going to write songs from their early years again. Since then, all their prog influences from the 70s resurfaced dramatically, and I...

    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

I am still analyzing BOS to this day. BNW is not that of a groundbreaking album on my list, though it revitalized Maiden and they got an upgraded sound. I think their biggest reunion album is AMOLAD, but they overcomplicated the sound issue and it should sound much better considering the...

    Janick's role in post-reunion Maiden

To me, besides Steve, Janick is the "most Maiden" member of them all in the post-reunion era. His songwriting skill, the songs he wrote, his sound ARE Maiden essentially.

Now I want to hear it as: "Cringe like a monkey" :)

    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

Well according to the Kerrang interview, besides Steve and Bruce the rest of the band are eagerly waiting for the album to be released too, they haven't heard it in its entirety either LOL

    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

This is an amazing design and package, all format! I do think this is one of their best artwork overall. I think with this campaign they got some new fans too.

It's about the ego of guitarists who play the Fender Strat, no wonder it's a Gers song! :)

Me too! I do hope the chorus will be something different: a time machine, in a time machine a time machine, in a time machine in a time machine, a time machine in a time machine, a time machine :)

One of the best album covers and overall design I think they had post-reunion.

Just based on non-English song titles I think it's time to bring these to the stage next year: Senjutsu Stratego Deja-vu Como estais amigos El Dorado Encore: Kill Me Ce Soir Juanita

    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

This whole album, the design, the song titles, the single released all seem too different from Maiden, which is great! Look forward to it a lot!

New Single - The Writing on the Wall

I hope the album will sound consistently good as this single. After like hundreds of listens I do think this is the best sounding Maiden in the reunion era. It took this long to produce their desired live sound. It is as live as it gets, but it has power.

TBOS sounds bland compared to this. I like it too :)
