I started to appreciate Lost World, a grower, but it still suffers from that damn Maiden curse of uninspired and plain guitar pattern that kills this song. Also, there is an extra part in there which should have been cut. The intro and the outro are nice and the vocal melody line saves the song...

I visualized Halford singing it right from the beginning. The guitars could have been even more punchy, but to me this is a perfect song.

Senjutsu is one of the best songs Maiden has ever released, it's that good. No plodding, cinematic, emotional, amazing drums, and everything is in place. Major Priest vibe.

Talking abour Darkest Hour, it also has one of the best guitar sound on the album. Raw and powerful, mixed beautifully.

I would say since way before that! There are some songs on this album that are more emotional than most things they have ever done. And there are other songs too...LOL

Time Machine is really becoming my favorite on this album. Amazing song!

After many many listens, here is my review. This is a strong album, and a grower in every sense. I can't place it among the reunion albums or rank it among all of their albums yet, time will tell. Also, how it will age, will see. My ratings are so far: Senjutsu 10/10 - a cinematic masterpiece...

Darkest Hour has got to be one of the best songs Maiden has ever released. It's a Bruce/Adrian solo song performed by Maiden, but still LOL Amazing! Spot on, perfect songwriting.
