I absolutely adore the general soundscapes on Fear. It has one of the more unique atmospheres and productions. You know how when you hear any part of Somewhere In Time and you can immediately say that it's from that album? I get the same thing with Fear, which has this almost mysterious and...
Similar reasoning, but my issue is with OTGDY instead.
Great track, but slightly weaker than the rest of the album, possibly due to the (imo) weak chorus.
AMOLAD is consistently great throughout. AMOLAD wins.
That wasn't meant as something negative! And I'm not aware of any instances where they badly messed up that song.
I meant that the middle section, when only the bass and one clean guitar are playing, as well as the part right afterwards with the marching snare drum, have very complicated time...
Steve has a tendency to write stuff like that sometimes. Similar with the middle section in Sign Of The Cross, which is an absolute cluserfuck of time signatures lol
Nah, the other members are doing just as many mistakes, if not more. Need I remind you of Bruce's timing issues (which are still not resolved entirely!)?
I've mentioned this before, but many of the mistakes that get blamed on Simon this tour aren't valid. There were examples where he was the...
Wasted Years is probably due to Adrian. We had seen on TFP how Adrian would start the song pretty slow and then it would speed up once the rest joins in. There were also a couple of instances of him getting frustrated and abandoning the main lead just before the solo due to tempo issues. Murders...
There's Musk with his "America Party" shenanigans, but I don't see that actually accomplishing anything.
Long term I believe that having a multi-party system would be better for the US. Having to work on coalitions and compromises has the potential to rein in the extremes a bit. With the way...
The Gelsenkirchen, Germany show. Here:
The quiet part starts at 4:25. The first two repetitions go well. The first is the one where the least is happening, the second has Bruce narrating the "today is born the seventh one" part.
From 6:28 starts the third repetition. Here is where the...
I swear there was another interview, but the only thing I could find right now was this excerpt:
https://books.google.de/books?id=8A4EAAAAMBAJ&pg=PA20&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q&f=false
(Page 20)
I'll have to find the interview, but Bruce said something along the lines of the "you watch the world exploding every single night" being about the audience response to the first song of a concert when Maiden runs to the stage and everyone going crazy. Maybe someone else remembers that interview?
I think we must be polar opposites. I genuinely love the first four of these songs (Stranger is my favorite Maiden song of all time, and the two TBOS songs some of my faves on that album). Celts is the only one that really disappointed me and is probably my least favorite on Senjutsu.
Did they have a school assigment or something and had to take notes? :D
Not sure if I mentioned it in this thread already, but next to me was a group of teens (looked to be 16-18-ish) who brought a polaroid camera with them. They took a (physical) picture of the "please don't take pictures and...
Time for my review:
The band was on fucking fire. They all had a ton of fun.
Janick was dancing and prancing, nothing new there. Steve was doing his typical machine gun playing and shouting lyrics at fans.
Dave was all smiles and played a lot with Adrian and Janick, and had so much fun playing...
