    Eddie Trunk about Janick Gers

That's because it's one of his slower ones.  There's really no point in mentioning other songs he plays in.  As I said,  I kinda like his soloiing,  with the exception of the H ones.  Utter butchering there.  I get why he does Hallowed,  but why Revelations???  Did they play that live during the...

    Eddie Trunk about Janick Gers

I think it's the opposite way around actually.  His solos are pretty much sloppy and "butchery" sounding (which I personally kinda dig  :D),  but I can't say they're good.  Admittedly few who are not Maiden fans (yet listen to metal) will appreciate this kind of guitar playing.  I don't think he...

    Iron and the Maiden

I get what you're trying to say.  But I really don't think this lawsuit will work as a warning to other potential "copyright" infringements.  First of all,  we all agree that this whole thing has given the comic book more publicity.  Others might actually want to "provoke" a lawsuit to be wider...

    Iron and the Maiden

Why is it that bad to know it?  And having a lawsuit against them already gives them more popularity as you said.  So basically this is having the exact opposite effect.  Pointless don't you think?

    Iron and the Maiden

So let me get this straight.  We're talking about a band who got a name even though there was another band using it in the 60's.  I'm not even implying Maiden did it on purpose back then,  I'm just trying to show that this matter is just stupid.  Not one person with average IQ will buy this...

    Iron and the Maiden

I disagree.  You simply cannot be certain that they did it on purpose so they could exploit Maiden's popularity.  Of the whole phrase "Iron and the Maiden", obviously "Iron" and "Maiden" are the most striking words and not because of the band only.  They're just striking words.  We see that...

    Iron and the Maiden

Ok,  so let's say that at first you notice only the two words "iron maiden".  You look again,  see the "and the" and realize it probably doesn't have anything to do with the band.  Big deal... -_-  Nobody will buy it thinking it's got anything to do with Maiden.

    Iron and the Maiden

Maiden is a common word.  You watch Lord of the rings or any film about the medieval ages you hear the word.  You play monkey island,  and there's an iron maiden mentioned.  There are tons of examples.  Sure,  when you hear the word "iron maiden" your first thought will probably be of the band, ...

    Iron and the Maiden

Sounds a pretty lame story to me  :P.  Anyway,  I think the lawsuit is just a joke.  They shouldn't even have bothered.

    Iron and the Maiden

Just because it came up as a result from a search engine?  Come on,  you might have searched for "iron man" and a Maiden cd might have come up at some point.

Brave New World or Dance Of Death

Well basically I was talking about what Onhell said.  Don't know how to explain it though.  There just use patterns that have been used before.  Intros,  chorus styles,  synths used,  they just sound redone.  Let's look at it the other way.  What do you find original?

Brave New World or Dance Of Death

I think I'm gonna go with BNW.  It's an album with a number of good songs,  but not one of them is great.  It just lacks originality.  But fortunately lack of originality does not have to mean bad.  Most of the songs I will happily listen to anyway (apart from Mercenary, and maybe Out of the...

Iron Maiden video interviews / shows

I think the guy was moshing,  that's why Harris got mad.  At least that's what I've understood from the few comments I read.

Steve Harris songs of the nineties

Now this one was a toughie.  I went for Sign Of The Cross,  basically because I've always liked their religion oriented songs,  and the whole atmosphere this song creates is absolutely amazing.

(Co-)written Dickinson songs of the nineties

I went with Running Silent Running Deep.  It's a pretty good song both lyrically and musically.  The rest lacked in one of the two (or if they didn't,  I just thought they weren't as good).

    Eddie Trunk about Janick Gers

In all fairness,  the energy Bruce and Steve have is the red bull kind of energy,  whereas Janick's got the "on crack" type  :D. Personally I have no problem with Janick being in the band.  I kinda dig his sloppy sounding solos.  I could go with fewer dancing moves though (still nothing to...

    Opinions about the SBIT tour

Ok so I missed a great show.  That I already know,  Maiden shows are awesome.  Last year I didn't consider it worth the money and trouble (the venue is a bit of a hassle to go to).  If that doesn't make me a "dedicated" fan,  fine.  I really couldn't care less.  I like Maiden,  love a lot of...

    Opinions about the SBIT tour

That's trur".e,  but you have to realize that there are obviously two types of fans. The "only classics" ones,  and those who like variety in set lists.  But this is a discussion.  Everyone's entitled to their opinion.  I have the right to not like a set list and complain about it,  especially...
