It's about the only backup vocals on the album, no? (I don't include where Dickinson is doubled in some choruses).
I was just going to post on that, but I love this part. Adds to the haunting nature.
The Man Who Would Be King
It's really interesting to me that Bruce kept his vocals low all song, except for the energy burst on the second verse where it picks up. But that's mostly volume increase. Pretty cool to hear him keep the range low throughout.
Very much an X-Factor-esque tune.
I'd have to say more than anyone Adrian brought the goods this go 'round. His influence permeates this record.
Dickinson would be my runner-up.
(Gave Nicko the nod for AMOLAD).
What say you?
Are those verses really going over that poorly here? (Honestly I've kept up only so much). I stand by 'em!!! ;) I love that song all the way around. :)
30 years of listening. They're quite distinct, despite being so complimentary to one another. Tonally they're very different too. You just pick it up with time.
My initial and briefest possible thoughts at this fetal stage. (Also posted from another site, so please pardon references like "as stated above" and things that don't reference this forum):
Satellite 15: I really like the intro. It's long and five years down the line I may wish they'd have...
Re: Satellite 15....The Final Frontier
It reminds me of the intro to the A Tyranny Of Souls album. Clearly they don't sound alike, but cut from the same cloth to me.
Me too.
The problem here too is calling them reviewers. I think having access to the internet does not a critic make, but don't tell them that. That doesn't mean I necessarily value a high-brow critic as someone reliable, but anyone and everyone "reviews" albums and movies today...and half of...
Albums are often listened to a single time prior to reviewing. Most great albums warrant MULTIPLE listens. (I find most things that appear *GREAT* after a single listen often lack staying power). I wouldn't want to publish my opinion of anything based on a single listen, including Maiden. I...
After the dread that was the 90s, for the most part, I'm downright tickled. I thought that by '97 we'd really seen the end of a great band. If you'd have given me a crystal ball and 20 second samples of the four albums to follow Virtual XI, I wouldn't have believed it.
I gave up after:
A more frosted or life And Death called rather what several responses. The one group the plate in the poor closed and nourished to the spun out and epic style if the ideal continuation

Largely unreadable I'm afraid.
While I don't rate Wind quite that low (as if 7 is awful) I can relate to the sentiment that I don't think it lives up to the OMG IT'S THE BEST THING THEY'VE DONE THIS PAST DECADE AND IT'S A TOP 10 MAIDEN SONG EVER!!!! bear hugs it seems to be getting. It's a great song to me, but not that...
It is. I loved the verse and the middle section immediately and now the rest (end) is warming up too.
I'll be the blasphemous one here and trumpet that I'm pretty certain I prefer it to Wild Wind, although that's a fine song.
