    Album Suggestions for a Newbie

I've actually been listening to Seventh Son of a Seventh Son today. I really dig it; the compositions are great and there's a bit of prog (but not too much). Right now, it's my second favorite Iron Maiden album, behind Powerslave.

IRON MAIDEN ALBUM RANKING: TOP THREE REVEALED

Maybe I'm wrong, but from most the fans I've seen rank their favorite albuns (and my own personal taste), Powerslave is always #1. I think that Seventh Son of a Seventh Son is more popular than Somewhere in time, especially after those albums came out, so SSSS would be #2.

    Album Pickups

Pickup 1: Van Halen by Van Halen Pickup 2: Toxicity by System of a Down It's about time I got these albums. IMO, they are the best albums for their respective bands. Fun fact: Toxicity got me into metal and slowly planted the seed for me to really get into rock music in general. The story was...

    Album Pickups

I don't know if many people still collect vinyl and cds these days, but I still do (mainly cds). So share any pickups of any band's album and please share pictures!

IRON MAIDEN ALBUM RANKING: TOP THREE REVEALED

I'm assuming #3 on the ranking will probably be Somewhere in Time

    KK's Priest

To be more modern and meta, the management at Judas Priest decided to use AI to form the most "perfect" route on google... no, apple maps.

Hallowed vs Holy Wars vs Master of Puppets vs Painkiller

As a megadeth fan, I can immediately say that Rob Halford is a way better vocalist and does a great performance on Painkiller. I prefer Holy Wars as a song, even though Painkiller is also really good, but mustaine's "unique" voice and nasally limited range is sometimes grating.

How would you rate Kirk Hammett as a guitarist?

I echo that sentiment. Starting with the black album, I felt that the band (especially Lars), started to get lazy with their playing to "fit in" with the transiton to heavy metal. Then, with load and reload, they got even lazier. It's a shame, because Lars showed great potential in AJFA. Kirk...

    NOW PLAYING

Definitely not flawless; the synthesizers/80s effects are out of place, but the music is pretty decent other than that. But even then, without the glam, the riffs/songs are kinda generic and could never reach the heights of many of their other albums.

    USA Politics

That's one of the flaws of the two party system: One candidate leads for the Republican and Democrat party, giving the other candidates basically no chance. So even with the bad rep that Biden has been getting by both sides, I think he'll still win due to familiarity. Also, independent parties...

If Maiden get inducted to the RnR HoF...

Me personally, I could care less about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It's a popularity contest, and they even induct non-rock bands/artists (how stupid, rock is in the name for a reason).

Satriani is awesome. Haven't listened to a lot of his work for some reason, but the songs I've heard I really like.

    Album Suggestions for a Newbie

Thanks, guys. I should've clarified I was asking for a friend, not myself. But this information will help me, since I'm not a newbie, but I'm also not really a iron maiden "veteran".

    The Future Past Tour 2024

Cool man! I always found his drumming excellent and perfect for the band. I'll check it out if and when I can! And it's potentially exciting news... if that quote isn't a bit of clickbait.

IRON MAIDEN ALBUM RANKING: TOP THREE REVEALED

Alright, I will "confess". :S:eek: I was asking for a friend, who wanted to get into Iron Maiden. He didn't want to join the forum, and it just so happened that I joined a Iron Maiden thread (one of the reasons I joined was to get fan input). Me personally, I started with Powerslave and then...

    Your Top 5 favorite movies

Two of Prince's songs in the movie, Trust and Partyman, are great additions to Batman 89. Back to the Future trilogy is great, with each one being unique and fun. The chemistry between Michael Fox and Christopher Lloyd is unmatched. Temple of Doom used to be my favorite as a kid, but now I...

    Your Top 5 favorite movies

    1) Batman 1989: This movie is my favorite superhero and batman movie; I felt it best captured the comic book spirit of Batman. Danny Elfman writes one of the best film scores of all time that is quirky and cinematic at the same time. Jack Nicholson is the perfect actor for joker; his performance...
