    18th Studio Album discussion

I'd really love for Maiden to shake things up a bit for their last album, work with a new producer, rehearse the songs more, give things a bit more time and reflection and try to give us the absolute best swan song they can. If retirement really is looming then they know this is most likely...

Iron Maiden Tour 2025 - Discussion

Damn this is awesome! The only downside for me is the programmed drums, but in almost every other way I think it surpasses the original. The additional guitar harmonies are great!

Iron Maiden Tour 2025 - Discussion

Agree on Alexander and Wasted Years. WY is kinda becoming a live staple and Alex I could see being one of the set epics for the next tour. From Senjutsu I imagine WOTW could hang around as its been such a big hit for the band. Just depends if they want to play it 3 tours in a row.

Iron Maiden Tour 2025 - Discussion

I'm really curious what the guys do with the setlist next year. I think there's room to please everyone with a greatest hits set that includes a few deep cuts. Something like: Wickerman 2 Minutes To Midnight Writing On The Wall Only The Good Die Young Wasted Years Infinite Dreams Trooper Rime...

By the way, the pro shot version of this mountbatten show will be available on YouTube in the spring, around April/May.

I'm unsure if it's a "can't play" situation or if he's toning things down for an orchestral setting, or if he's just playing it safe and not wanting to take risks of making a mistake at such a big and unfamiliar gig. It's likely that Nickos drumming will never quite get back to where it was...

    The Future Past Tour 2024

I do find it curious that they had plans until 2026, I don't think 3 years of TFPT followed by 1 year of a new tour makes sense, which kinda makes me lean towards a new 2 year tour starting next year.

    The Future Past Tour 2024

I don't think they're likely to go into another greatest hits tour so quickly. Doing LOTB over the course of 4 years seemed to grate on them a bit, by the end of the 2022 shows I think they were getting a bit bored. On the other hand they seem to really be enjoying changing things up for...

    When Maiden and orchestras collide

Pretty much agree with Vaenyr here, great concept but could be done much better. I also think the mix is a bit weak for what should be a huge powerful show. Curious to see what Maiden songs they do at the Mountbatten concert in a couple of weeks...

Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

Yeah Senjutsu is 8 minutes of nothing. Could have worked as a short intro but got dragged out into a full song with no exciting sections. The energy level never picks up.

IRON MAIDEN ALBUM SURVIVOR 2023: Results -> Somewhere In Time wins!

Fillers doesn't have a particular high point but at least I can get though it without skipping multiple songs, a feat that none of the 90's albums manage.

IRON MAIDEN ALBUM SURVIVOR 2023: Results -> Somewhere In Time wins!

Personally I'm just surprised that Killers didn't beat out all 4 90's albums.

IRON MAIDEN ALBUM SURVIVOR 2023: Results -> Somewhere In Time wins!

SiT and SSOASS are on a level pegging for me. Easily the two best 80's albums imo. Looking at the way this survivor is shaping up the Top 4 is looking to be exactly how I would rank them. Below that things change for me, with the 4 90's albums taking the bottom slots.

IRON MAIDEN ALBUM SURVIVOR 2023: Results -> Somewhere In Time wins!

Really tough decision here. I think SiT is the more consistent album, it's weakest point is probably SOM or HCW, which are still both solid songs. It's a no-skip album for me. Lots of 4 out of 5 songs throughout. SSOASS arguably has higher highs, but it also has The Prophecy, which is ruined...

    Bruce Dickinson

Maidens production is nothing to do with cost. Kevin has done fantastic mixes previously (BNW) but these days Steve just wants to do everything quickly. Write record and mix back to back. No time to refine the songs, no time to rehearse the parts, no time to reflect and tweak the mix.
