    Most memorable Maiden concert moments

My first show 28 years ago was a total blur but I'll never forget the moment the Aces High riff kicked in and the whole stage and audience exploded into life. Powerslave and Rime were really incredible and Hallowed Be Thy Name was better than I ever imagined it would be. SIT tour with CSIT as...

    Veddertown's Top 40

Not to offend anyone but this is a Maiden chat forum and yes I know forums can get congested with similar threads but it is what the title says. Look around at the thread titles and you'll sometimes see some pretty uninteresting topics so you know which ones to avoid. I don't expect an abundance...

    Veddertown's Top 40

    35. ONLY THE GOOD DIE YOUNG One of SSOASS's greatest moments this one. Lyrically this song is fun as it comes with questions and questions of course need answers. When this came out I wasn't a huge fan of it for some reason but it has some superb guitar work and Bruce's vocals soar as they did...

    Veddertown's Top 40

Since I'm going to turn 40 next week it seemed like a good number to limit my list to and I've had so much interest in reading all the other lists and countdowns I thought I'd give it a go. I have given all the albums a listen recently including particular attention to the Blaze albums which are...

    Blaze era help?

I do quite like The Clansman but not to the degree some fans do. As far as comparing vocalists I don't think they're worlds apart in many ways but it's interesting how they perform one anothers songs with their respective different vocal ranges. Sign Of The Cross for me is better with Blaze as...

    Blaze era help?

I'm really appreciating the individual views on the Blaze era and it's giving me plenty to think about. I've just listened to TXF again and surprisingly today it was hugely refreshing compared to the last listen. Of all the bits that bugged me the only thing that I didn't enjoy was the song I...

    Blaze era help?

My opinion of TXF will change with each listen for better or worse. For an album so dark I still feel very positive about it and what I'll take from it with future listens. The criticisms of particular songs are much like for any Maiden album, few if any are flawless and I like it that way...

    Blaze era help?

Well, well. Two Maiden albums listened to, now on to the second listen of The X Factor. Having already heard Sign Of The Cross on Rock In Rio I kind of knew what to expect but I must say I didn't expect to prefer the album version which I did so good start there. Lord Of The Flies is for me...

    Blaze era help?

I was a fan of Wolfsbane back when Blaze joined and saw them twice, once supporting Maiden. I don't have any albums anymore but used to have the first couple and the ....Kathy Wilson ep on cassette. I don't remember the last time I heard them and I've never heard any of Blaze's solo work.

How Many Times Have You Seen Maiden Live?

I've managed 12 with a 19 year gap between the last 2. Glasgow 84, Edinburgh 86 night 1 and Edinburgh 88 night 2 were out of this world! I went to Iceland to celebrate my 10th gig and the worst show was Ingliston 90 when SH was the only member whose heart seemed to be in it? They were really out...

    For the next Maiden tour....

Ah! Crossed wires. I would love there to be another nostalgic setlist tour since I didn't attend the others. I doesn't seem like the band are slowing down much so it's got to be a possibility.

    For the next Maiden tour....

Do you mean the tours or the dvd's? I don't think a tour is out of the question if that's what you mean? The material released on the Early Years dvd's seems fairly chronological so far, old pre EMI footage, Live At The Rainbow, Hammersmith, Dortmund, Live After Death, Behind The Iron Curtain...

    Blaze era help?

Yeah, the big thing about '92 was how insanely huge the stage looked and that the setlist was so big. I didn't enjoy much of the rest of the bill that day but loved seeing Maiden with such a huge audience. I watched that VHS to death and do listen to the cd now and then although the sound isn't...

    Blaze era help?

 Sorry, I loved it at the time but after a few dismal live versions it's novelty wore off. I find it a little poppy when I listen to SIT now. A Maiden hate list doesn't mean I can't listen to the songs sometimes. Likewise Quest For Fire, hearing the "fi-yuuuur" pronounciation during the...

    For the next Maiden tour....

The time between the Early Years vol 1 and vol 2 was quite a while so I wouldn't expect it on any package with the current tour. This will surely be a stand-alone document of the Final Frontier tour. I'm sticking my neck out and saying vol 3 will be Maiden England with the extras being some...

    Blaze era help?

Without listening too deeply on youtube, the songs with Blaze I did hear overshadowed a lot of the Maiden tracks I have simply never liked and even if I don't adore the albums I'll be eternally grateful for him keeping Bruce's seat warm. For the record I very quickly scribbled down these tracks...

    Blaze era help?

I'm even more intrigued now than before having read all these opinions. Some people seem to lean very strongly one way or another and I'm interested to see which way I'll go on this? I'm a great supporter of Blaze being a bit of an underdog and he had a very big pair of shoes to fill. I'm hoping...

    Blaze era help?

Great post Forostar! Both albums were ordered today used from amazon for a grand total of £8.24.... :) I get the feeling The X Factor is going to be a good listen from views here and from some of the customer reviews.
