This one definitely feels like it could have been on AMOLAD. I love the first line when Bruce sings "Winter softly falling to the GROUND!"
Musically there is a lot to like here, especially the clean guitar parts, and the song is well structured to keep from being repetitive. It gets lost among...
By far my favorite of the shorter tunes. The lyrics are moving, with perhaps the best chorus on the album.
The riff to this song is different for Maiden, but I really like it. Both solos have a great amount of emotion that really fit the song perfectly.
My second favorite song on the album after Empire. Great tempo changes, super heavy riffs, some of the best solos, and probably Bruce's best performance.
Janick has been Maiden's most consistently great songwriter since Dance of Death, and this one proves it.
This was a surprise for me. There are some very strong melodies and vocal lines here. The solos are wonderful, and the ending section is one of my favorite parts on the whole album.
Even after reading the early reviews, I never could have expected anything as grandiose and magnificent as this.
Empire was an instant masterpiece for me on the first listen. Every section perfectly encapsulates the part of the story being told.
The only minor gripe I have is the reuse of the...
I think this song is really hurt by the production/mixing. The main riff sounds weak and the guitar tone is messy, especially right before the solos.
Also, it suffers from having a pre-chorus much catchier than the chorus itself. After SOL, this is my least favorite on TBOS.

ROTAM is by far Maiden's most overrated song. It's not even the best on it's own album. I put it behind Powerslave and Aces High easily.
It's a good song, no doubt, but it's far more repetitive than many post-reunion songs that get criticized for that.
Especially the middle section with the...
I've only listened through once at work, so I'm refraining from posting too many thoughts. I will say that I'm far more impressed from first impression than I was with TFF, and it's not even close. I can't wait to give this album the time it deserves.
