If there is a history tour for that period. There's not many fans of this particular era of the band's discography, so I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't do such a tour. If anything, I could see them doing a thirty-fifth anniversary tour for Number of the Beast in 2017 and having a general...
Nailed it. It'd be a lot easier to go back and look up those first impressions if it gets its own thread, as opposed to it being in the middle of one massive thread.
Well, the lyrics can be interpreted in different ways, but it's essentially a criticism on organized religion. There's a ton of nuances and subtle details within the lyrics though.
I will admit that Starblind is starting to lose its hold for me. It's still a great song and one of my personal favorites, but I do think I probably rank a few other songs over it (not sure which yet). That said, the lyrics are pretty much unrivaled by any other in Maiden's discography. Only...
1. Remember Tomorrow
2. The Ides of March
3. Children of the Damned (or Hallowed Be Thy Name)
4. Revelations
5. This is What Not to do When a Bird Shits on You
6. Sea of Madness
7. Infinite Dreams
8. Fates Warning
9. Be Quick or Be Dead
10. The Edge of Darkness (or Sign of the Cross, or The...
Not necessarily. I'd probably get really frustrated if I saw the band play Quest for Fire or The Angel and the Gambler live, for example. I'd probably be fine with whatever general setlist we get, but there's always a few personal favorites or hopes that I'd like to see live myself. Even if I'm...
I'm not necessarily referring to TFF being brick-walled or hot mastered. I just think that the general sound and production of the album really doesn't match up with Starblind. The production style they went for on TFF worked wonderfully on AMOLAD, because of that album's darker, more raw...
Yeah, but Travis, I haven't seen SotC live ever. I only became a fan of the band in 2008 and have seen them live once in 2013. It's a song that I'd personally really like to see live at least once in my life. I'm not expecting it, much like how I never expected to ever see SSoaSS live either.
I kinda hear production differences, but it rarely makes a big difference for me. Starblind is one of those moments where it ends up making such a difference. The general muddy sound just doesn't fit with the cosmic, otherworldly music that the song is going for. Having a more polished...
I thought the same thing, though I was ultimately willing to let it slide since I got to see both Phantom and Seventh Son live. I never thought that would happen. I actually think FotD would regain a bit of love if the band dropped it for a tour or two. Give the song some time away from the fans...
I think Hallowed will be back, but I'm wondering/hoping that they might drop Fear of the Dark this time around instead. It'd be really nice if that happened.
Indeed. SiT's sound is utterly divine. Honestly, TFF's biggest mistake was not having a similar production. Imagine Starblind with that sort of production!
Okay, fair enough.
Certainly not me. My suggestion (which I've mentioned here on the forums before) is that that they could get Michael Kenney to come onstage and play Bruce's piano parts live, much like how he did for Seventh Son with Steve's keyboard parts. I think you misread my post there...
Sure, but that's the thing; it's being mentioned and being praised. Nicko calls it an opus at a live show, Steve calls it a masterpiece in Kerrang, so on and so forth. It's certainly getting more attention (and as a result, hype) than say The Red and the Black.
