I love the Brave New World and Dance of Death albums so much. The highs are wonderful. And I really enjoy the short songs from the Blaze era. Man on the Edge and Futureal would kill in a modern Maiden set

Nicko was on fire on the Virtual XI tour. Listen to how fast and how energetically he plays fills on Futureal live in 98 (and 99 with Bruce). Yet he just plays straight through every song on the album. Very odd.

Obviously in the eighties there was loads of them... I have found that Maiden writing good short songs has become rarer and rare over the years. I never really cared that much for Speed or Light, Final Frontier, Wildest Dreams, Days of Future Past etc. I suppose the cut off length would be...
