    Iron Maiden's most progressive song?

I haven't listened to the new album yet but I probably should given that's what they're touring for. Is it any good?

    Iron Maiden's most progressive song?

Where's the gig at? The city I'm going to is in NJ and it's incredibly convenient because the venue is literally 5 minutes away from where my good friend I'm going with lives, so it all turned out really perfectly.

    Iron Maiden's most progressive song?

This exactly. Progressive music should push boundaries and develop sound, and following the formula of Dream Theater is hardly progressive at all; the opposite in fact. BTW won a pair of free tickets to see DT so excite :D

Classic albums and famous bands you don't like

I never cared for the Beatles. I don't hate them though, I'm not some snob who hates everything that's commercial or popular. But...they're just not that interesting to me. At all.

    Iron Maiden's most progressive song?

    Regressive Metal

    Iron Maiden's most progressive song?

Phantom of the Opera isn't the most proggy song in Maiden's discography (speaking in relative terms), but it definitely can be considered a prototype of the future 'Arry epics to come.

From Best to Worst song on every album

O_o This thread is like the "5 favorite albums, 3 favorite songs from each" on steroids.

    Iron Maiden's most progressive song?

For me, "prog" has always been a very elastic definition. It's not always clear cut (i.e. "Prog music MUST have keyboards, complex time signatures, long songs, 100 stringed guitars, etc."). I think if something is progressive it should mark an evolution, experimentation, or development in...

    The actual term is "creep".

Favorite Maiden Album (2010 Edition, voting closed)

The X-Factor and Somewhere in Time are roughly tied for my favorite, although maybe I prefer TXF by a slight margin.

    Alexander the Great

Davey has one solo on it and I LOVE it, but it's really H who dominates this track IMO. Dave's solo is longer and more techinically impressive, but the solos from H, particularly the last one, is just chock full of beautiful melodies and emotion. Not that I neglect Davey though by any means...

    New Frontier

4/10 It's catchy, but sub-par for Maiden. It's interesting listening to Nicko's thoughts and opinions in the lyrics, even though I strongly disagree with them.

    Face in the Sand

2/10 Stupid filler track IMO. The double bass pedal barely makes any difference either, so I don't know why Nicko even really bothered to make an exception just for this song.

    When the Wild Wind Blows

10/10 If TFF is truly Maiden's final album and, thus, this is their final song....WHAT A WAY TO GO OUT. Beautiful music, such inspired and divine melodies...gotta love it. Bruce is masterful and showcases his amazing range and just swells with so much emotion. Genius.

    Sea of Madness

8/10 One of H's best contributions to Maiden IMO. Just gorgeous music from start to finish.

    Stranger in a Strange Land

10/10 That bass, that solo, in harmony, aauuuughmmyyygaawwwwwd.......

    Alexander the Great

9/10 Not 'Arry's best epic, but we're talking in relative terms here because it's still amazing. Yes, the lyrics sound like they're ripped straight from a history textbook, but Bruce's amazing vocal performance more than compensates for this. H rules this song, hands down.

    Wildest Dreams

5/10 I don't care whether music is commercial /meant for the radio or not, because all music is good as long as it sounds good...but let's be serious here, this is so blatantly cheesy and a waste of time. H's solo barely rescues it, and the motivating lyrics make it fun.

    The Edge of Darkness

7/10 This song should have been longer. I feel like all that brooding atmosphere and building tension comes flat and I felt like the song had only just started. Am I the only one thinking this is a bit anti-climactic?

    Blaze Bayley

I submitted a question to to this, really hope it got chosen. :D
