From what I've heard they're actually supposed to be crap live.

I've always preferred the über-sludgey and heavy sound of Remission and I'm pleased to see they're starting to return to that sound somewhat. Though oddly I'm not too big a fan of Leviathan because while Blood and Thunder is a killer opener, the songs are so indistinct and unmemorable from there...

How do you guys feel about the newer Maiden albums?

My opinion is always subject to change when it comes to the reunion albums tbh. Sometimes I think albums like BNW and TFF are equal if not superior to the 80s albums, and other times I'm like "what a ton of watered down crap"

    Judas Priest

I think a pretty blatant example of this is the lifeless production on The X-Factor where Steve got a little too giddy with making his bass as LOUD AS FUCKING POSSIBLE LIKE THIS and giving the guitars a really thin and wimpy sound.

    Blaze Bayley

Well Blaze normally plays in small clubs or bars so this is hardly surprising.

World Cup of Maidenfans 2.0 Great Eight: Battle 4

I agree completely. But seriously, beating the dead horse. EDIT: And Rush.

    Judas Priest

I tried fixing the shitty production by remastering the song myself. I meddled with the EQ to get rid of that muddy sound and boosted the treble frequencies to give the guitars a more crisp and pronounced sound, because the bass+drums are just clogging up the whole thing on the original. Vocals...

It's an actual piece. It's supposed to be making a statement, but John Cage was a hack composer who relied more on being provocative and gimmicky rather than actual igenuity in his works. Btw I'm far from being a music snob, and it takes a lot for me to call any artist a hack.

World Cup of Maidenfans 2.0 Sweet 16: Round 8

I actually own the score for that piece. My conductor was clearing out the filing cabinets and giving away some old sheet music so I was like "why not?" :p It's scored for an entire orchestra and there are time changes, modulations, tempo markings, i.e. pretty much everything. I get a good...

I really love Endgame to be honest, not only is it an awesome comeback after a whole slew of crap, it's an awesome record in its own right. If only they kept up with that inspiration. How did Symphony of Destruction make it this far?

You'll just love this song then: And Pink Floyd.

Things about Iron Maiden that annoy you

I personally get annoyed by how Janick constantly butchers solos live, especially when they're not even his. For example, they'll hand off an iconic H or Davey lead to give Janick something to do, and he just royally screws it up.

World Cup of Maidenfans 2.0 Sweet 16: Round 6

Both display excellent musicianship, but I prefer Rush over AC/DC's cookiecutter discography.

    Which 'Alchemist' is better?

    I'd say I prefer Bruce's, but I like both a LOT.
